Once it’s in gear it’s completely fine, it just doesn’t sit erect in neutral (nothing to be ashamed of)

Hi all, tried to search for this but I guess I haven’t advanced to a black belt in google-fu. The gear lever in my Series 3 landy doesn’t self centre and so when in neutral, the gear lever rests all the way over to the right. This causes a rather irritating squeaking noise which I can’t help...

Ah got it, definitely has the solenoid on top of the unit. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s poor electrics, there’s wires zigzagging all over the engine bay, many not connected to things. (High beam flash doesn’t work but I think that’s the stalk switch as everything else does) It all works...

I’m going to have a go at recovering my deluxe seats once I’ve gotten through the rest of my long landy to do list, wanted something unique and as you said, prices are absolutely extortionate

I think for a Series 3 with the vinyl dash the deluxe seats look better, but in series 2a backwards the simple ones are the way

My 2.5n/a is incredibly loud, like noise defenders don’t even drown out much of the noise at 45mph loud, might have to post a video soon and see if that’s normal… Haven’t had the opportunity to drive a petrol series so can’t really compare

Ahhh best keep the journeys short then really, I find the clutch the most brutal on my knee and I’d definitely say I’m in the lowest aged bracket of landy owners at 20 years old

Apologies for the lack of measurements, I’ve come down with something nasty (probably just man flu :rolleyes:) Reading back I was being a bit silly suggesting there’d be a difference in the measurements since it’s the seatbox that’s sloped as opposed to the the actual cushion, so the distance...

Ah I see, the standard and deluxe seats are sloped so I’ll grab both measurements

Would you not be more interested in the height at the back of the seat base in this case?

It depends how your height is distributed, I’m 6’4” and I start getting aches in my legs after a while due to how the seats (“deluxe” seats) are angled more than anything

I’d imagine a new fuel tank would save you a world of pain

Yes sorry as tottot said, it’s the throttle shaft that’s leaking. I haven’t yet bought the kit however I’m not quite sure it’s the right one for my pump anyway as the gasket is different to the one shown in the full kit. What I’ll probably end up doing is just buying the full kit to make sure...

Well to update everybody, it’s definitely a 2.5na engine with corresponding injector pump (fuel solenoid and timing belt cover probably should’ve been a clue for me :rolleyes:) Am I correct in thinking these are CAV DPS pumps and I need this kit...

Looks like I'm going to have to look for an engine number when I'm back, thank you all for the help! I seem to recall a thread on here about converting the 2.5na to a timing chain like the 2.25 but perhaps i've made that up as I can't find it
