    I have a wire left over ;-)

Thank very much guys - I think you're right, Mine is also a 1990 90 and that wire is definitely the right length/position for the glow plugs. But as I said above the glow plugs are looped with a yellow/black wire and work. I also got the wipers working this afternoon (for a short period...

    I have a wire left over ;-)

Thanks for your support guys. Sadly my knowledge of electronics is very limited. I thought that because it had a ring connector on the end, it was an earth. Hey ho ! Anyway, I measured the voltage. The battery voltage is 11.9V. (it's slowly being rebuilt and has stood for a couple of...

    I have a wire left over ;-)

It goes into the ignition relay - marked PRC6913.... No wings ? Yours sounds in a similar state to mine ;-)

    I have a wire left over ;-)

Photo attached. Having checked, I don't think it goes to the glow plugs. They have a yellow wire with a black trace and seem to be all looped correctly - you can just see it in the bottom centre of the photo (plus the engine starts). Thanks again for any help ! David L

    I have a wire left over ;-)

Kwakerman - thanks ! I've just seen that too, but there's no way it will reach the relays (if they're the ones mounted on the bottom of the dash). Judging by it's position, it must go somewhere in the engine bay (I think). Plus the one thing I forgot to mention earlier is that it has a ring...

    I have a wire left over ;-)

Hi, Please can anyone advise on a earth wire without a home ? I've redone the wiring in my 200tdi, but I have one reasonably thick brown wire with a red trace that I can't find a home for. It comes out of the main loom just after where the loom exits the bulkhead into the engine bay and splits...

    refitting upper fascia trim

Thanks ! TBH, I'm amazed you can get it in with the vent lever in place. Even with no lever it was a squeeze ! But thanks for the reassurance - I'm just relieved it's in. Thanks again.

    refitting upper fascia trim

I tried that - but if you loosen the lower dash enough to get it in, the demister pipe comes loose and of course you can't refit it once the upper fascia is in place (as you can't access it). However, I did resolve it in the end. Just in case someone else has the same challenge, I removed...

    refitting upper fascia trim

Hi, There's probably a really obvious answer to this, but after an entire day trying to find it, I realise I need some help please ! How do you refit the upper (grey) fascia trim ? I've refitted the lower dash; connected up the heater cables, connected up the demister tubes and now need to...

    Cable connection to heater flaps

Thanks Neilly - yes, that's the diagram I posted. The part number I need is 566902 (17 on that diagram) - but it seems I was sent RTC5978 (15 on that diagram). Will try again now ! Thanks

    Cable connection to heater flaps

Neilly, THANK YOU ! That was not the diagram I linked to - mine was from Land Rover Workshop but it didn't show the actual coupling. The bottom right hand diagram in your picture was exactly what I needed. Thank you ! I thought it was something like that - and had bought a replacement...

    Cable connection to heater flaps

Hi, Please can anyone describe how the cable directing the air flow connects to the heater flaps ? Or even have a photo of the cable connecting to the flaps ? I'm in the middle of rebuilding my 1990 Defender and it seems the one thing I didn't photograph on the strip down was the inside of...
