Well i bit the bullet and bought another battery hopeing this would cure the gearbox fault.Still the same .Any one else got any ideas what it might be?

i got transfer neutrel when i messed about with the fuses.It would not go in to any gear .I put a fuse in a slot that did not have one and transfer neutral came up .Dont know if this helps.

Hi it might be your idle control valve .It is also known as a stepper motor.I had the same problem changed it running a lot better.Two minute job to change.

I have an 80lt tank in the boot i think.I drive a 4.0se.The computor on avr reads about 10-11mpg .All i do is short journeys so i cant seem to get the mpg up .Does this seem a bit low. ?

Thanks ianmjdun tried the wd-40 like you said it seems to have worked .I think the bit inside the barrel must have been sticking and thats why the computor was thinking the keys were still in ignition so fingers crossed.

Hi jeffers i have the very same problem half the time no problem .The other time( ignition key in) and not being able to use remote with the alarm beeping.

arghhhhhhhhhh this is doing my head in .checked all the connections seem to be ok.Took it out for a spin all running ok.Jumped back in to go and get the papers and gearbox fault comeing back up on the dash then( running on limp home mode ).Stoped and started it again running fine .

It did last week before i got the new battery.But since then its been running fine no problems.Even when it came up on the dash no change to power or perfofmence.
