Well before it blew up its performance pointed more towards 2.5 TD than a TDi, but it's just frustrating that I can't find it!

Hi redhand, sorry to bother, but you've been massively helpful. Can you be any more specific, bearing in mind I don't know my way around engines fantastically and this one is half taken apart. Is it obvious? On a plate? When they say left I assume left is as you look at it not as you drive it...

Can anyone help me find the engine number - it's supposed to be a 19J, and looks like one, but I can't find the serial number and I've been told it's not the original engine due to yellow paint on it. Here's a pic with the head off, could some explain in simple terms which part I need to look at...

Yeah, I found that site earlier today, which is how I found out that the VIN doesn't tally with the vehicle being SW. I just wondered if that was a normal thing for landies, or like you said, was because it had been modified?
