i like the idea of turning the rear into one big jail cell but too often we get dogs that need a separate crate :(

Random one but has anyone had any experience fitting dog cages to the back of a defender 110? We run a dog walking business - I have a 110 ex MOD utility and have a lot of space back there but cant work out the most efficient way of fitting 4 crates back there. Anyone? Ed

just closing this one off and thanking everyone for comments. it was as many people guessed a water pump issue - seized so replaced. Belt was reusable :)

I’m pretty sure the belt came off only about 1 min before it conked but can’t be sure

Not by looks of it but will get my head under there tomorrow

Hi guys My ex mod defender 110 (300 engine) started making a clattering noise and lost power steering, pulled over and the belt has slipped off (not broken) and there is blue I assume coolant ****ing out everywhere. Just waiting to be recovered but any thoughts on what happened?

yer it is a bit steep i agree, price you pay for a local small market town tyre/battery shop i guess - still good guys and i am lazy/cant be arsed with waiting for something to get delivered!

guys - just an update to close this one off, tried all checks suggested above but still no luck, did however manage to jump it from the freelander and so went and grabbed a new bat (100 quid lighter!) - all fine now. Thanks for the help and banter, good bunch of people, tar! E
