Sorry Kev, I did ant realize your landy was disassembled, it is easy when the landy is up and running. It looks like Doug has put you in the right direction, best of look with your rebuild. Do you have a rebuild thread ?

Yes you can, I did my S3 4 years ago and i havant had any problems at all. I used heavy trailer cable and run it to a waterproof junction box under the back of the tub, run the wires to the left and to the right and to the trailer light plug. Just use the trailer lights colour code to wire...

Hi all, I have just rebuilt my S3 gear box; :) *Whilst driving* The reverse, 3rd & 4th gear work fine, however 1st & 2nd gear is very stiff. I have put on a new 1st & 2nd synchro and 1st & 2nd synchro rings, it'll go into gear, but it takes some force; :mad: So, does it just needs wearing...

Hi, i did have a damper on my S3 SWB for a short time (6 weeks) to try and calm the steering a bit which it did, the down side it made the steering heavy. I ended up taking it off and going through the steering system from the box to the wheels and defiantly keeping the original steering wheel.

86" or 88" + 107" series 1 bulk head and one of the wind screens and the other screen is off an 80" series 1.

Both ends of the loom, don't any of the wires have markings. If i could get to mine i would take some photos for you to see, but i cannot get to her due to our Wales COVID-19 lock down(5-mile radius from where we live) landy 20 miles from where i live. Sorry i can't help you more. Mal

On mine the sleeves are at the end of the wire. I have come across some wiring where the sleeves are missing due to have being cut and re-wired!.

Are you wiring it back to a NATO plug or a Civi. The little sleeve's on the yellow wires should have letters on, A to N. A, F,H are spare. B left hand stop light. C convoy. D and L earth. E tail and number plate light. J right hand stop light. K aux positive. M left hand turn light. N right hand...

There is a neat tool you can get (not expensive) with a hook on one end which you push through the rubber or leather and at the other end is a piece sticking up that you hit with a hammer and it knocks the seal out, simples ;) If by chance you buy a seal and it is a metal & leather one you need...
