    I have no idea of the model of overdrive, were there great differences? But it was a bog standard Fairey overdrive on a 1984 series III gearbox. Petrol engine. Although the linkage was primitive it worked like a dream.

    To the overdrive. I want to operate an overdrive unit with a lever that comes out of the front of the seatbox, next to the handbrake, instead of the side of the transmission tunnel. Geoff

    About 30 years ago I used to have a Bearmach (Toro) overdrive with the operating lever coming out of the front of the seatbox. Much neater than the Fairey (but you need longer arms) Does anyone have any photos, drawings, instructions, anything at all, that would help me build such a linkage...
