anybody know if LR3 cross bars are the same as Range Rover sport bars?

Basic problems that most will have is the electron handbrake fails, and front upper and lower wishbone bushes fail. If you can, check that these have been sorted, or walk away , the rest is basically down to maintenance , obviously somethings will fail, but that's true on every vehicle.

No manual release, as far as I know.

If you open the tailgate several times in a short period of time, without the engine running, the lock is disabled for 1 minute to protect the battery, this could be the problem.

It says that press both the master unlock and lock buttons together for 3 seconds will release the upper tailgate.

Have checked the handbook, will have a look at mine.

Temp fix is clear bath silicone seal round the frame to roof, cut the nozzle really small and put a good bead all round, it will last maybe 2 months before UV breaks it down, won,t affect the paint and will pull off easy when you do the job properly.
