Before you do that, check the individual pins on the connection on the wiper motor itself as they can work loose. Also check for corrosion on the motor connections. It's rare for the wiper switch to be the cause.

I always cross reference by looking at LR part numbers. If the OE LR number is the same for all derivatives post 2001 then the aftermarket ones will be too. Allbrit.de seems to suggest all post 01 front shocks are the same.

the vacuum chamber and the one-way valve need to be checked before you go any further. Stick a vacuum pump on it pre and post the one-way valve and see if it will hold -1bar.

On the one occasion I got my D3 stuck (ditch edge obscured by heather disintegrated at the side of the road) it was Rock Crawl and the artificial locking of e-diffs that got me out, much to the amazement of the bloke on the phone to the local farmer calling for a tractor to pull me out.

Incontinence and loss of bowel control seem to be mandatory when these guys start issuing their threats......

They'll foul on your suspension - the lower spring cup, and will rub on your wheel arch on lock. You'll need some hubcentric spacers for those to fit without rubbing. It's marginal even then - you may want to consider a 40mm lift kit to give more clearance on the inner arch.
