Has anyone fitted the cheaper Ronbox 1

The Ron Boxes / Synergies unusually don't specify figures after fitting one, but looking at similar devices from other manufacturers, I guess you would be looking at around 300 to 340 Nm of torque when fitted to the TD4 unit.

Why is the insurance so high?

I used to pay £180 for my Disco and now pay just a tad over £210 for my 2005 Freelander TD4, fully comp, parked on driveway. You generally pay more than regular cars if you drive a 4x4, as whilst you may be relatively safer inside one, they are capable of causing significant damage to other...

Has anyone fitted the cheaper Ronbox 1

******* UPDATE ******* I ordered the RonBox 1 on Sunday evening, was advised it was posted Monday morning and it arrived today (Tuesday) at lunchtime. Once I'd located the correct fuel rail sensor to plug into ( a lot of the connectors are identical so take care you have selected the right...

Has anyone fitted the cheaper Ronbox 1

Thanks for the input guys, it is much appreciated. I am loving the Freelander but a little more power on tap when needed, should really bring it to life. Always said I'd never buy another Landie, but it's in the blood.. ;)

Freelander 1 Speedo Or Sat Nat?

I have my satnav set up to give audible warnings at 105% of the speed limit. Lady voice says 'You are exceeding the speed limit" and it is spot on with what the dial says on a truck's calibrated speedo. To me that would indicate satnavs are quite accurate on speed calculations. My girlfriend...

Has anyone fitted the cheaper Ronbox 1

Hi. After seven years I have a 'green oval' on the drive again, having chopped in my remapped astra estate for a low mileage Freelander 1 this week. Vehicle is facelifted 55 plate TD4 adventurer manual. I don't do a great mileage in a year, probably less than 4000, but I do tow a lightweight...

Freelander 1 TD4. What mileage before problems?

I had a 300 tdi, great engine and reasonable economy. Sadly that was let down by endless oil drips and indifference from the technical support at Land Rover. Local garage got so p*ssed at their attitude they fabricated and fitted full length drip trays under the engine and gearbox, they lined...

Freelander 1 TD4. What mileage before problems?

OK the Freelander has significant problems then?? Don't want another Discovery, as stupid split roof design meant it was too high for many height barriers, making them a complete pain. Is the Defender any good then? Know they fetch good prices, but are they actually worth it? Unless someone...

Freelander 1 TD4. What mileage before problems?

Am looking for a mid sized 4x4, predominantly to tow caravan with so I don't get stuck on grass pitches. Have had Discos, Rangies and Series models but Freelander is more size I am looking at. Ideally a TD4 post 03 facelift model, looking to spend max of 6k. I know the Freelander 1 TD4 is...

Freelander TD4 - Will short journeys wreck it.

When you consider how many diesel Freelanders there must be in city centres (and other landies), enduring bumper to bumper traffic and seldom getting the chance to get properly warm, I am sure there would be a lot more tales of woe about clogged up egr's and manifolds, which are also a symptom...

Freelander TD4 - Will short journeys wreck it.

One of the reasons I was looking at a 4x4 was for towing my caravan. My current diesel estate copes ok, but limits me to only using sites with hardstanding pitches. FWD cars and wet grass are not a good mix. :( It may be I have to bite the bullet and get a petrol model instead, but sadly not a...

Freelander TD4 - Will short journeys wreck it.

Living in a country lane with no footpath, having to cross a very busy 70mph dual carriageway in the rush hour, lorries thundering down another lane to an industrial area is probably a real good way to get yourself killed. :( Guy living just down from me got mown down by car driver about five...

Freelander TD4 - Will short journeys wreck it.

I do a very short commute to work of less than two miles. Along a mix of country lanes and a very short blast of probably half a mile along a busy dual carriageway. As I also use my car for towing a caravan, I am looking at the Freelander TD4 facelift model. Probably a 2004 or 2005 model...
