    L322 Key programming

I have heard they can be funny about it. Like I say we do have a couple of local cobblers/ key cutting places only downside is one only opens half a week and other doesn’t seem great with keys, had a few house keys done and had to give them a bit of a fettle with a file to get them running...

    L322 Key programming

Need to go back to the old days of a key as in metal with bit of plastic on the end, cheap, reliable and secure in comparison to all this keyless stuff.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Tax on mine is high rate, nearly £700 a year probably same as yours? That’s why I skipped the 3.6 didn’t fancy the turbo or egr or cracked manifold issues, 4.2 seems a very good engine mines booked in for a new thermostat as it over cools on motorway/ down hill, and not a cheap job but they have...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

True that, think every big car iv had all had paint/ scrapes etc on bumpers. That’s older cars though keep rust chasing, once iv sorted this I’m not spending a fortune on it, I’ll weld it myself, get a mate who’s a sprayer to do the paint one weekend, where it meets rear bumper I’m thinking...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Had yours gone at back of the arch/ quarter where it meets bumper? Looking at mine everything looks original paint wise apart from rear bumper what’s been diy sprayed, looks fine in rain but not as shiny as rest of car when dry, cheap lacquer etc, this I’ll get painted when I’m ready for arches...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

When I was looking every one I viewed were getting flakey around arches, my td6 was always ok but had been previously repaired. One I looked at seller said just there, “why you looking under it, good solid car boss, first to see will by” my reply was “not that solid pal, sills and arch corner...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Look like it, have it a good poke and hammering and nothing fell off, looks like it’s just the thin steel on sill that’s gone at the moment, will know more when I get round to cutting it out, and can see inside, weakest point at the moment is the very corner of the arch and sill.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

weather allowed me to finally get the side steps off, drivers side was easy passenger side needed cutting off. Took sill covers off to check rust condition, about 4 inches from rear is flakey and goes through when really hit with pointed chipping hammer, need to cut that and weld new in, luckily...

    L322 Key programming

Maby but with me older td6, I had one working key and another that didn’t, so programmed the non working key and it worked fine and the car didn’t forget the original key so I then had two keys. This seems like it’s doing either one or the other.

    L322 DIY Full Service

Shouldn’t be too bad to do, iv just done a full engine service on my 4.2sc yours will be similar, no manual needed, just look in manual for oil capacity, mines 7.7l, filter is tucked up behind radiator/ front of engine, take both plastic under trays off for access, if it’s like mine it looks...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Gave my 4.2sc it’s first oil change, hardest bit was getting the corroded 10mm screws out holding the front part of the plastic under tray off to access filter, bit of a silly place for the filter compared to the TD6 which was right on top, used to take 20 mins change the oil on that one.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Gave my 4.2sc a good hammering underneath and Waxoyl, managed to Waxoyl myself and the driveway aswell… messy stuff. Also it’s now developed a scraping noise, sounds like something catching brake dust shield, can’t here it at speed or with windows up so not fussed, will sort it when I refresh...
