    Setting up a 300tdi properly

It's a sa made one but probably a copy of the cirrus one - they made 2 bigger versions - mine is the smaller of the two and slots straight in - I think the bigger one just needs the steel down plate to be bent straight It probably makes sense to fit the biggest one first as the diff in price...

    Setting up a 300tdi properly

on my 300 tdi i fitted a bigger intercooler - slots straight in with no mods - and that has proven to be the single best mod I have done lower egt's by a good 50 deg and motor just feels to breath a lot easier

300TDI, clutch slave cyl, pushrod. dimensions

So from my post earlier re the hole in the fork possible - I went thru the replacing both master and slave cylinder rubber seals first before I saw it was the clutch fork hole problem Several times on and off on the master as it's a difficult / tight fit After using the same "new" seal kit on...

300TDI, clutch slave cyl, pushrod. dimensions

Is the clutch not allowing you to select gears sometimes. Here in saffa land the clutch fork suffers from the pivot pin pushing through. I had to do mine recently and by the looks of it a bulge could be created before it actually pushes through on the pivot point and that would change the actual...

    Strange sound engine compartment

Never heard something like that before - but - your aircon compressor clutch is an elctro magnet thingy Follow the two wires back from the aircon belt and in about 6 inches or so you will find a plug - disconnect it and c what happens

    Water problems 300tdi in a 1985 110

Having said that - I had a new mechy that I thought was good do a cam belt change - and while you there flush radiator and new hoses etc Turns out he didn't put the rubber linings on both sides and bottom of the radiator so nice cool African air was just spilling out the sides instead of going...

    Water problems 300tdi in a 1985 110

A laser temp gauge gun is cheap I would check temp across the entire radiator - while motor is running and hot - In my Saffa country its called a "tropics" mod - where 80 or 90 %blockage is put in the radiator side tank - closest to the intercooler - to force water to travel thru the whole...

    Small vacuum tube

On my friends 300 tdi defender we purposefully linked the front diff and trf box and g/box breathers to after the filter Alas he no longer has the vehicle - and we used thin tubing, attached the whole lot together using the bulkhead as a securing point That's about as much as I can add

Vibration noise and not smooth running

Well I will go with one of the gbox mounts - 50 p in my currency is about 12 beers so too rich of a bet for me although with clutch replaced you would think a bad mounting would have been seen - although same for the rear uj

    New (to me) LT230

I probably shouldn't tell you this - But I honestly get weak at the knees at the sight of a shiny LT230 on the bench For some reason not so with a R380 on the bench

    Making my 1994 200tdi reliable

There is another Saffer product called TD5 spy links to a cell app and you can add other predefined analogue type sensors like actual egt, oli pressure and temp fuel pressure and 2 or 3 more things don't have a link but I think prices are similar
