i`ve had my 19j powered 90 for a year now and after all the horror stories i read before buying it runs like a dream, mine is used for laning and pay and play days only so gets about 22mpg, starts on the button and pulls well, well pleased with it.

its not too far away from standard, lifted suspension, 235 michelins, front winch and winch bumper. Just fitted a new clutch & fork, timing belt kit and a new radiator and its running as sweet as a nut fingers crossed it carries on like it, but good to hear its about right on fuel consumption.

Done my first tank to tank check and its working out as near as damn it 22mpg. Considering this is only used for laning and pay and play days, and obviously traveling to and from the above i didnt think it was too bad, what do you think.

Did think of doing this but was a bit concerned about losing about a third of the cooling area compared to the 19j rad

they all seem to be well over 200 on ebay

Thats good to hear, mine tends to run a bit hot at higher speeds. I have googled the hell out of it and the cheapest is £150 delivered so looks like I`m gonna have to bit the bullet and order it, cheers for the feed back

The clutch fork collapsed a couple of weeks ago so thought i would pull the engine out to replace, whilst out i`m going to do the cam belt and fit a complete clutch assembly. On removing the radiator i noticed the fins are mostly mullered, no leaks so enquired about a recore as its the brass...

I have used Autoglym super resin polish on plastic windows and brought it up like new. Plenty of elbow grease required though

The intercooler was the main reason for changing, just wasn't sure if the 200/300 rad was big enough for the 19j

Been thinking about it and I'm probably going to remove the engine as i was thinking of doing the cam belt at some point so will be easier with the lump out. What are the bell housing bolts like to get at, is it a case of taking the engine mounts off and dropping the engine down to get at them...

Noticed that my clutch pedal developed a lot of free play then today lost the pedal completely so drove home and had checked the fluid level which was empty. Pulled out the slave and found the piston was hanging out and the actuator rod was right inside the bell housing, and has now disappeared...

Looking at the video you just need to make up a clamp to hold the tyre out of the way while the band is undone so not such a problem

Will the 200tdi rad provide sufficient cooling for the 19j as you are effectively reducing the radiator surface area by about a third, i only ask ask i was thinking of doing the same myself but was concerned about cooling.
