MOT fail today. Not too bothered as knew it needed tyres/exhaust. Also front steering control rod bent, which was annoying, see pics! Exhaust and steering arms off, searching for parts now! Pretty sure front wheels shouldn’t do this haha!!

Road will be fine. Was planning on getting Enduro Runway HTs- there seems to be some decent reviews on them on this forum.

I will probably go with 235s, think they look better and fill arches more. Any brands/types to recommend? Looking at mid-priced rather than BFG price! Doesn’t really go off road much (sadly).

I see there’s a couple of other tyres threads going on... I just want which best tyres are good for a standard mostly road going Disco 1- 205/80 or 235/70? Any opinions?

My Disco is currently going to need new tyres for MOT. It’s currently on a motley assortment on 205/80r16s. Should I stick with this size or Is it worth replacing them all with 235/70r16s? Do they handle better? If so what brands/makes do people recommend?

Was driving home last Sunday, leaving Tesco car park and heard a clunk... lost all drive! Managed to get home with difflock on (only 1/4 mile), kept disengaging to try and minimise wind-up. So I’m sure it’s CV or half-shaft. Have removed front prop shaft and driven into town with difflock on...

Zombie thread again... I’ve tried this wiring diagram with the white and white/black wires connecting to the pink and orange ones but it doesn’t work- any ideas?

Yes will do. I torqued it up to setting in Haynes (176NM I think) and bent 2 tabs of the lockwasher on to it, so that should help.

Zombie thread I know but thought I’d point out I had very vague steering until I checked this today on mine! I had tried adjusting the box to no avail, but it turned out the drop arm was loose! Tightened it up and bent locknut, now it’s like driving a different car. So nice when things are easy...

Ah that lead converter thing looks ideal. Was ideally after something with more bass in the back, hence the 6x9s, plus I have a couple of pairs lying around. Hadn’t thought of putting speakers in the roof- interesting idea!

I want some better sounds in my Disco 1. I’ve got the front speakers upgraded with some Alpines which fit and sound much better than original. I’d like to put some 6x9s in the back but none of them seem to fit in the pillars due to depth, or they’ll foul the seats when unfolded. Has anyone...

Today’s jobs- acquire a rear wheel cover and get all the lights in the dash working!

Word of warning- I bought one, used it but it sounded crap! The old cassette/mp3 cable thing sounds way better, although less high tech, so I’ve gone back to that. Maybe there’s a better quality one around on market?

All fixed. Makes a satisfying “pssshhh” noise when activated now, which it didn’t before!

Good call. I only noticed when I’d been running the heater for a bit and noticed a plastic-y smell...!
