Hi, I have just received a new Britpart solenoid and the instructions say the battery lead should be on the terminal furthest from the mounting bracket. However on the original/one of car it is the other way around. So a. does it matter b. if it does should I go with the original (car) way...

well there's a turn up. No mastic. just very stuck gasket. Off now and glad I did, about 10mm of sludge in the bottom. probably not been off since 1975! Thx all.

is it steel or ali? I assume steel if you're talking about dents. Was worried about cracking it, if ali. Why do these idiots use bloody mastic! such cowboys

trying to remove the sump. Removed all the bolts but not coming off. I assume it's had some mastic or similar. So wondering how to safely get it off. Is it completely flat so I can try and run a Stanley knife blade around it? Any advice/help greatly appreciated. Cheers Chris

Hi can anyone tell me what the black sticky stuff is called that holds the front glass in the door tops? Bought new ones from Bearmach and had to dismantle for paint and made a mess of the original. I did try to search but obviously using the incorrect search criteria Thanks. Chris
