Bought a high-lift jack. No need to use that breeze block as a base any more!

    Freelander 1 3 Amigos - Hawkeye results

That seems like the easiest option and probably wouldn't hurt to replace it anyway so I'll start there. Thanks (again) :)

    Freelander 1 3 Amigos - Hawkeye results

Never replaced those before. Is it relatively easy? Not gearbox off I hope :( Hmm I'm pretty sure I replaced that switch some time ago, but maybe I'm mis-remembering - I have had a few FLs now. Awesome :)

    Freelander 1 3 Amigos - Hawkeye results

I managed to get hold of an adapter for my Hawkeye Total (not so "Total" apparently) The results are as follows: 1. 5E17 CAN Gear Plausibility 2. 5DF4 Voltage low 3. 5E5D BLS Electrical Fault 4. Unknown fault 5. 5DF5 Internal Fault Ok, so I didn't expect it to say "Ah, you have a faulty...

Special order though, so they may not be able to get them. If you could have a look I'd be grateful. Looks like the connectors are easy to find. Thanks! [Edit] Don't worry I managed to find one, thanks :)

That's a great offer thanks, but if that's all there is to it, would it be less destructive to get the pinouts using a multimeter?

What have you done to your Freelander today

I had one of them Couldn't get it to work so I sent it back. Would prefer to have one device for all my LRs but maybe I'll give it another go if I can't find a cheaper adapter.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Plugged-in the Hawkeye to see what the MIL is all about. P1E30 Boost control positive governor deviation (boost pressure too low) P1255 Fuel low pressure sensor. Signal out of range. I suppose the P1E30 could be a hose. I have suspected for a while the one coming out (or in?) the turbo has a...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Fitted my side bars. Unpacked them to find they were non-genuine, so not as advertised :( Decided to fit them anyway to save the pallava of returning them. Had to re-drill a few holes due to some welding. Took it for a drive after, MIL came one for a few seconds, then it went out, then the 3...

    Hawkeye Total for FL1

That would suggest my ECU is the Mk25 but I'm not sure it is. I have a grey cable and it can't talk to the ABS ECU so that's a fair sign I guess.

    Hawkeye Total for FL1

Ah wait I seem to remember mine is combined with the ABS pump! I may leave that until I have less stuff to do!

Thanks for that link. Three amigos came on today! Can I swap my ECU for a later one?

    Hawkeye Total for FL1

Yep that's what mine is. You need to select the communication protocol as well, which on mine is the last one in the list (typically).

    Hawkeye Total for FL1

I've got one for my 2002 TD4. It seems to work pretty much, e.g. for live data etc, but it wasn't able to identify a fault when I had my 3 amigos issue. There's probably other stuff it can't do. However, I'm pretty sure other people have said that theirs works ok, so maybe it's just my car...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Replaced plastic roof panels with glass. Also fitted camber bolts although they don't seem to make any difference. I'm wondering if the control arm is so soft the cam on the bolt is just munging into it rather than moving it.
