    Cat Flap - let’s see.

Bit of a wait while my mate bent the hinge arms for me, but now they’re back and hung on the roof. Good news is, they lift to 90° and clear the roof. So now to adapt the arms width to meet the window sides.

    Slight gearbox noise - worrying.

I’ve only done the 20 miles in it since I’ve had it. I got it as a non runner (clutch) a year ago, and once I’d got the engine out I couldn’t stop myself. So not got any history to compare it with.

    Slight gearbox noise - worrying.

Well I’ve now done about 15 miles and the noise had gone. I’ve not yet checked the transfer for a cross drilled shaft, but it’s on the list. One thing I’ve noted though is the lack of speed! Wow it’s slow. :-)

    Slight gearbox noise - worrying.

It’s done 95k miles and I’m sure both boxes are genuine. I have a feeling the transfer may have the very low ratio gearing but I’ll have to check the serial tomorrow. I went for another drive today and the noise seems less severe so fingers crossed. I’ll check the drain plug magnets tomorrow too.

    Slight gearbox noise - worrying.

Check them for what Phil? Level and metal glitter or something else? I used EP90 in the transfer.

    Slight gearbox noise - worrying.

Driving home from a successful MOT and I noticed a slight screech coming from I think a gearbox but only when off load. Just done a full rebuild but the boxes only had an oil change - it’s been standing since 2008. It sounds like it could be a bush spinning. Any ideas where I should start...

    Cat Flap - let’s see.

Finished both the upper hinges for ‘project cat-flap’. They were quite tricky to make (for me) so I’ve posted some pics of how I did it. The original hinges are made from 1.25” x 0.25” but it’s much easier to get hold of 30mm x 6mm so this is what I’ve based these around.

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Finished one door. The door card is pretty shot, especially along the bottom where the door frame had rotted. I glassed the insides where they’d cracked and they’ll have to do for now. The doors are certainly improved from before.

    Agreed value? Agreed by who…

And that’s the real issue isn’t it. If something did happen, you want your insurance to make it as right again as possible. But when it’s your valuing something that open to interpretation it’s tricky. I got some quotes and told them £10k and they didn’t ask for any evidence at all which...

    Agreed value? Agreed by who…

Hi Doctor. Which am I looking for - good question Either and both I suppose - if a member has previous experience of this and found a third party with credentials I suppose that would be ideal. Alternatively if there’s anyone with genuine market experience who could value based on the current...

    Agreed value? Agreed by who…

Hi all. Just completing my 110 restoration and want to get agreed value insurance. At the moment I’m just telling the insurers £10k to get some quotes, but what’s it really worth? I know everyone is always asking what’s it worth cos they want to sell it, but I don’t, I just need a proper...

    Cat Flap - let’s see.

Got the lock mechanism from Albert Jagger this morning so did some work on the cat flap. Made and welded a bracket for the lock, and drilled all the holes for the handle. Added the rod supports at either side if the frame. Random fasteners at the moment and the handle fixing bolts need...

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Finally painted the doors after much delay and prevarication. Get them fitted and maybe go for the first MOT since 2008.

    Door card nut inserts

Thanks for all the tips @gstuart - my LR is a very early 110 and the bottoms and sides of the cards are screwed into the frames with the plugs in the original post, hence the number required. @JUKE179r thanks for the link - Mike is very helpful but the video is sadly not applicable in this...

    Door card nut inserts

Does anyone know the part number or spec of the nut inserts on the bottom of the door frames for the door cards? It’s a 1986 110 and I cannot find them listed anywhere. Cheers

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Just put the skin back on one of the repaired door frames. First time, and felt quite traumatic :-) Still, think it’s gone ok.
