P38A How to find emission data to check ULEZ compliance

Great news everyone. TFL contacted me today. My 2000 4.0 P38 is now ULEZ compliant. Yeey!! I've just checked the TFL checker and it's already updated. Apparently my 4.0 V8 is "helping to improve air quality across London." TFLs words. Not mine.

I wouldn't recommend an Italian tune up for your condition. Hope you're recovering well.

P38A How to find emission data to check ULEZ compliance

No idea, but my P38 is Euro 3 and the CoC has a Type Approval Number on it. It has robbed me of 6hp however. CoC says it has a maximum power of 136KW. That's 182hp, not the188hp advertised. Naughty Land Rover.

It's still only a temporary exemption. Disabled people will have to magically heal themselves eventually.

P38A How to find emission data to check ULEZ compliance

I have an important update. I received the Certificate of Conformity from Land Rover today for my 2000 4.0 P38. According to the CoC the emission values are: CO: 0.698 g/km NOx: 0.051 g/km HC: 0.131 g/km HC + NOx: 0.182 g/km Apparently Euro 4 has the following requirements: CO: 1.0g/km (pass)...

P38A Is my car a secret American with its seatbelt chimes?

Ahh, that's handy to know, thanks. Soon I will have no beeps.

P38A Is my car a secret American with its seatbelt chimes?

I dunno I feel like I need to nip this in the bud sooner rather than later. If I don't she'll be starting her own revolution before long, declaring independence, she'll insist on having her own gun, invading the neighbours garage and might even end up screaming "yee haw" at every speed bump.

P38A Is my car a secret American with its seatbelt chimes?

You're missing out. It's not those three soft chimes you get when you leave the door open and turn the ignition on. It's the harsh angry ones when something has gone horribly wrong. I only get two angry beeps now. One for sunroof not set. It's seized to buggery so that will remain for a while...

P38A Is my car a secret American with its seatbelt chimes?

Possibly. If anybody has a wire under their passenger female buckle let us know. It may well be something that can be turned on and off using the BeCM. But I couldn't find the option on the simulator thing they have on blackboxsolution.com

P38A Is my car a secret American with its seatbelt chimes?

So, my car (MY2000 4.0 RHD, UK) has always really annoyed me with the seatbelt warning when I first turn it on. It has about 8 loud chimes in a row to warn me about my seatbelt. Anyway, I read this forum on how to stop this madness...

P38A Front door handles (external) don't retract properly and parts not available

Maybe not brass, but some sort of thin metal lining glued in place.

This is the sort of thing I was thinking

This bit that wears is a horseshoe shaped notch if you like. There is a pin that sits within the horseshoe bit which probably wears but the catching of the handle is caused by the horseshoe notch wearing.

They don't, I've ordered form there. They'll take your order then tell you it's on back order. I've asked them when they will receive them. They don't know. This was four months ago.

Or what I might try is just filing the cam out so it's oversized and glue in a thin metal liner. This will hopefully remove the notch and prevent it form wearing out again. Maybe when the weather improves a bit.

If they can print polycarbonate or nylon, it may work. Unsure. Best I can do is ABS so it would be chewed up in no time. Another way to go would be to scan, print and then sand cast an aluminium part. This may well transfer the wear to another more difficult part to replace. Unsure on that. I...

P38A Front door handles (external) don't retract properly and parts not available

I have a 3D printer but I doubt any of the filiments I have could handle the abrasion and they would just wear out.

They only sell kits for the passenger side. These passenger side ones are still available online. No one seems to have one for the driver's door.

What's the reason for them going under? Too much competition. Land Rover owners spending less money, fewer of us? Something else?

P38A Front door handles (external) don't retract properly and parts not available

I have the common issue of my front door handles not retracting properly. I've ordered new parts STC3063 and STC3064 from both John Craddock and JGS4X4 but both have said that STC3064 (drivers door) is on back order and they don't know when it will be available. This has been about 4 months...
