They're a crap design and I don't want to buy the same hinges only to be faced with misaligned doors because they dropped again in a few years

That's the problem, they cost silly money and I just don't have a couple hundred quid to drop on hinges that are the same design. There must be some for another vehicle that fit, maybe rear door hinges from a van?

I've never seen that before. The Td5 hub isn't that much different from older ones so I've no idea what you've got, maybe someone else can shed light on it? The rubber cap is to go over the drive flange and cover the end of the half shaft

Just rebuild it. I bought a new UK made turbo core for 120 quid and did it myself. Absolute piece of **** to do and you're safe in the knowledge your turbo is good as new

Those sides don't look as if they're tightened up enough. Have a look in the corner and you'll see two 13mm nuts (one on top, one underneath) tighten those up and it'll pull the side down into the tub. The foam is ****e but it generally works well enough to keep water out

Do you have a picture? The TD5 has a spacer then a single large stake nut which replaces the old two lock nuts that were used before. The stake nut will be 52mm

As far as I'm aware it only needs lap belts if originally fitted. If they're fitted then they will be tested during an MOT, if not then they can't be tested. Never heard of anyone failing an mot for lack of belts in an old series for example but a defender may be a different story

Yes and no

Sounds more like the box than the pump. If you're getting fluid then the pumps still working to get that fluid there but the fact that nothing is coming out when you turn right points more to an issue with the steering box than the pump itself I reckon
