Sport New to me 4.2 sc

I have one of those “lists “. I did mine limo black a few years ago but unfortunately bought tint film a bit cheap and it’s started to fade so needs re-doing. Just waiting for slightly warmer outdoor temperatures. Tricky

What did you do with your Range Rover today

New earth strap to be fitted, many thanks. I had no idea it was even a thing. Every day a school day, cheers. Tricky

Please can you expand, does it need to be there as a precaution and as such needs replacing to ensure good ground or is there known static that builds in the engine bay? Tricky.

We have an earth strap on the XJ bonnet that looks very green, there are no other electrical components attached the the bonnet so why would it be required? What effect would the strap have anyway? Tricky

Just for the hell of it, the £1 coin test. Next up a plasticine cup of oil on the bonnet to test my driving skill before looking for work as a Rolls Royce chauffeur. Tricky  PS I was going to attach the video but it wouldn’t let me!

I’m fortunate enough to have 20” for winter and 22” for summer so definitely locked, wouldn’t fancy having to replace those. Tricky

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I resorted to installing disposable nappies under the carpet of our Jaguar to draw the moisture out of the foam on carpet underside to avoid having to pull them out, did the job. The water was getting in through a 5mm gap in the outer door rubber, what a pain. Tricky

It’s not the wheels any more it’s the tyres at £140 + per corner budget brand. If your wheels are half decent too I’d be fitting new locking nuts. Tricky

Other What have you done since not touching your range rover today?

Like what you’ve done, jumped on a thread from 2020. I’m poised to tackle my sons 1998 XJ that has decided to flood for no good reason. We suspect it’s lost the spark on route through the immobiliser. What joy. Tricky.

Great to see you check off each job, makes me more determined to run through my enormous check list, it’s just difficult taking tools to a Range Rover that runs every time you turn the key. Tricky.

    L322 Beautification process completed

To be fair it does look gas welded to me but it has been painted over. Was there any braising involved is the question? Answers on a “post”..!! :p Tricky. :)

Looks like I’ll have to do it myself. It’ll be good practice for the Range wheel arches lol. Only joking about the wheel arches, I wouldn’t even dream of taking them on having read some of the LZ posts about that job. Just need a decent panel beater. Enjoy your revitalised Range. Tricky :)

Very tidy, would you like to come to York and weld a new sill on my Citroen C8 please as we had a bit of an incident with a low wall :p:p:p Tricky :)

    L322 Brake light switch

Hi just by way of support in your quest. I trust your battery is all good because that’s the easiest thing to check first. We have a Citroen C8 that decided to throw up ABS & DSC warning lights, checked by scanner and brake light switch was flagged. That car has two identical switches but we...

I was fortunate enough to be able to fit gloss black handle covers with double sided tape. They look great and to date have stayed firm even during hot or cold weather. Looking forward to your next update trust it’ll look as good as the letters. I’ll be finishing off my trim with gjoss black...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Very nice indeed, all you need now is a black front grille, door handles and side vents and you’ll have joined the rest of us desperately looking to prove the early Range Rovers can match the new ones for modern road presence. Tricky :)

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Looks great, I’m a big fan of the black letters as they can set off the paint colour and overall appearance of the Range. I had a full set of original letters left over from putting chrome on my first one so painted them off the car and saved having to mask the panels. Tricky :)

    ABS ECU trouble

https://www.ecutesting.com/common-faults/vauxhall/vauxhall-corsa-d-abs-pump-fault/ When our local garage did the ABS repair they got an exchange unit from these people, don’t know if they can do your Land Rover unit. Perhaps worth asking them. Tricky :)

    ABS ECU trouble

It’s the block that the brake pipes all connect to and distributes braking pressure per wheel. Apparently it just gives up and delivers uneven braking to one side fooling the control module into thinking there is a slip and lock up across the front. When driving it just felt like a normal ABS...
