Rear diff. front mount is easy to change and relatively cheap. (You dont need to disconnect the propshaft to change it).
Remove the center bolts from the two rear mounts and push the diff. over to remove the front mounting.
If Reconditioning companies can buy the correct fluid, it must be possible for anyone to get hold of it. I doubt that landrover developed thier own special fluid or VCU, they would of used existing fluid, already developed, it would be alot cheaper.
If I remember rightly there is a switch in the door handle or the window mech. which drops the window an inch to allow the door to open. Whilst the window is not fully closed the wipers, washers and heated screen dont work. Check this switch is working and wired correctly.
You have 9 solenoids in the auto gearbox. 'Hippo' has posted a video on utube showing how to check the continuity.
If you search on this forum for jatco auto problems you should find the link.
Do a search in the freelander section for your drivers door lock, I remember a long thread on them.
The knocking underneath could be the rear diff. front mounting, if it knocks under acceleration and engine braking.
Window problems are common and well documented, normally the cable has snapped...
Do a search in the freelander section, yours probably isn'y the first to have those faults. If you can't find anything, start a new post explaining the symptoms.
Hi Hippo
Just checked F4
Ignition on 12.56 volts
With engine running 14.38 volts
Tempted to try pulsing voltage on the 2/4 brake duty solenoid a lot of times whilst the engine is running in park to see if it stops clicking. As it is running O.K. at the moment I will have to drive it around...

Hi All
Checked all the earth's didn't make any difference though.
I found this link on a V.W. site, uses the same box
VWVortex.com - 09A Tiptronic Solenoid Location & Function
Check 'bryhan67' post.
They number the solenoids, I think I have cross referenced them correctly below.

Hi Zefrench
The first test I did at the TCM and all read correct except the speed sensor which was open circuit.
I then dissconnected the barrel connector to test from there to eliminate the part of the wiring loom from the barrel connector to the TCM.
The wiring was O.K., but from then on...
