    Hi from the Falklands!

Welcome to the lunatic asylum, been down there a couple of the times, as a civilian. first time no road to Goose just mud, second time there was a road. Reminded me of the Hebrides, only there it's heather , the Falklands it's ferns.

    2-Stroke oil in yer diesel?

There's a thread somewhere about about adding 2T to diesel to reduce smoke, but iirc less that a litre that's needed, I think it's 500ml per full tank. I used to put in 250ml per half tank, it does work in reducing smoke. Also almost all diesel is reduced sulphur, when doing that it reduces...

    Towing

I've towed 3/4 ton of boat +trailer with my 110. 200tdi plus disco transfer box, 285 tyres No problem, I've used 5th too, but only down hill. Back in the days of me being in the RAF, towed up to 3 1/2 tons with an old series. but I don't think, it would have pulled a 5th had it had one.

Welcome to the forum even if you've decided to live on the dark side in Suffolk it's a heck of a commute from there to Yorkshire where the wife is from. London's no longer bothers me, the national dinghy exhibition has just moved out to Farnborough. Even with my bad back the 110 suits me, however my left knee is giving problems so a...

    gps speedo

An alternative to a GPS Speedo is to use a tablet computer that has a GPS chip inside. Then choose a suitable app.. I use a tablet as a road navigator and another on my sailing boat to display speed, compass, and race time.

Where do you keep your landy?

Hidden from view in the back garden, it being a 110 with galvanized chassis, bulkhead, door frames, stainless exhaust. There's not much of a problem with corrosion.. And the roof has a nice layer of litchen on it.. As for the street, mines only one car wide. So no option of parking there. We...

Lifetime of current vehicle & classics

I'm expecting my landy to out last me in use, that's another thirty years. Note, there are not yet any real plans to get rid of diesel lorry's . That's pie in the sky as far as battery technology at the moment. Ideas for powered roads either overhead or under road are just ridiculous , the cost...
