Jesus for a minute there I thought you were referring to the wheel carrier, to be honest it was a new batch of paint that I’d used 😂

Spare wheel cover turned up today, another ebay bargain due to a few small scratches it cost me £41. A scotch pad and a quick spray job and hey presto as new, have to admit its a bit of a struggle to get it over the tyre (bit like trying to get a condom on an african elephant) but will look good...

Spare wheel carrier painted and the spare bolted on, the wheel and tyres looked big on the landy but look bloody huge when hung on the back ! I think I may need some weigh on the front now to keep the wheels on the ground 🤦‍♂️🤪 maybe a set of ford tractor weight may do the trick haha

Help required in the Portsmouth area 110 300tdi defender

Hi, just finished a nut and bolt restoration of a swb 300tdi, having learned a great deal from my first series resto I did things in a different order which sped up the build. Here are some tips to help, take photos and more photos and some more from a different angle, then once you start taking...

Spare wheel carrier painted, brackets fitted but going to leave the swing arm a day or two to fully harden before fitting. Have ordered some stainless bolts instead of using the BZP ones supplied.

SP4x4 swing away spare wheel carrier arrived yesterday didn’t like the galvanized look so decided to etch, prime and paint it blue the same colour as the landy. Here it is primed ready for painting, only problem is I’ll have to wait till Monday as I’ve run out of 2k paint hardener. Best things...

    Defender nut and bolt rebuild

Galvanized Front bumper painted black, dried and fitted this morning. I had to lead solder up the pre deilled holes that were in the end of the bumper as the 300tdi did not come with the plastic bumper end caps as standards these were introduced with the TD5.

Thinking of putting a v8 chevy 4.7 in the early def, but it’s already got a refurbished 2.5L diesel from Turner engineering which sounds and runs like a swiss watch, already in a galv chassis it’d be a shame to separate

Hopefully this build may just inspire! My view is that anything is achievable if you put you mind to it. Failing that there’s youtube or google ! I honestly couldn’t have a lot of the work without sitting on the loo on my phone (colitis wows aside) ! 😂

I just hope that if anything happens to me that my wife doesn’t sell my landys for what she thinks I’ve spent on them 🫣 excluding buying the landy which I paid a little over, but worth it just for the Anglesey provenance. Parts alone it would have costed me circa £13k once I purchase the...

The purist in me got the casting vote and I ended up with standard county decals, in fairness I’m glad as they just look right. Eagle eye viewers can just see in the background the new galv bumper is now painted matt black. Should be dry enough to fit tomorrow evening 😀

    Series 1 - 109 truck

Judging the price of a new chassis and bulkhead it will take me longer than six months to save enough money! Even though I’m planning on a long term project if the last two restorations are anything to go buy it’ll be ready by Christmas! 😂 Engine is a 1997 cc petrol

    Series 1 - 109 truck

Third build, and things are starting to get interesting. Finding an Anglesey registered Series 1 was impossible but stumbling across one on Anglesey registered in a near by county Denbigh was close as I was going to get. First registered to Sir Alfred McAlpine of 80 Park Lane London and garaged...
