P38A Is this an omen to something......

If it does it again i seem to recall that the pick up on the intank pump can go which would pull in air if the fuel was low as in going round a corner, but dropping the tank is a bit extreme just to check, wait and see what happens you could always keep the tank above half.

    L322 Battery Drain

The earth strap on an L322 is by the right hand ( when stood at the front looking in the engine bay) engine mount , you can test it by using a jump lead from the battery negative to the engine the earth straps corrode inside the cover so look ok but are not.

take the programmer front of the back plate on the back you should see a little slider that says 10 or 16 if its on 10 put it on 16 and you should be able to have heating with out hot water, as that potterton programmer was made to run a gravity system or a fully pumped one there will be a...

I would just like to say

With the age of the old pump and the fact it leaked from the electrical part just by a new one and gate valves fit it together making sure its pumping the right way, you can undo and turn the body so the elec bit is the right side, drain it down and swap as one the old pump will not be...

I would just like to say

The leaver type are ok but do not even think about the ones with a ball and screwdriver slot they are 99.9% guaranteed to leak if you turn them after a few years, i wont even try just drain down and replace :(

I would just like to say

All new are supposed to be energy A rated, to do this the electronics in the pump knows how much power it required to move x amount water as the thermo valves on the rads shut of this puts a restriction on the water flow causing the to be under more load so it backs the power of as its not...

I would just like to say

Never seen just the core only the whole pump, you can swap the whole thing if you want to but the big nuts can be a pig some times, if you have a spanner or adjustable big enough you can try.

I would just like to say

No there is a large o ring on the pump motor, its an easy way of changing a pump if access is not good or the valve nuts are well corroded on, it has been known to undo the nuts with a hammer and chisel or even hacksaw.
