The pads dont back away from the disks far when the pressure is released ,a pad could be catching some rust on the disk. It might be a caliper partially seized after standing while you were away.
Yes thanks but he was too far away to come and see it but did seem to be interested though,is the clunking all the time or when going over uneven ground or does it sound like something catching as the wheel turns?
The diff mounts on mine are still ok at about 65000mls ,I would probably replace them when needed with genuine ones from l/rover as they have lasted well so far :)
