My 3.9 v8 disco has cooling problem,i knew i shouldn't have bought it.Water pump was goosed,fitted a new one also changed the thermostat.Engine runs fine,it only seems to overheat when standing still in traffic.I did notice the temp needle sits at halve way but seems to go up a bit then back...

Yes,thats a good way to do it.Make sure you scrape all the loose rust off,it will take you a while but once done and you waxoil it every year it will last a good while.
