Hi Bruthar, very late reply but yes she is going great guns now! Once the fuel pump was 'delicately' tapped the old girl proceeded to start, it's been great ever since. I would certainly recommend anyone getting a reconditioned pump though, it's so much hassle if your repair hasn't worked.

yea that's a good call, I don't think the wire will stretch so will have to dismantle tomorrow I think. I wonder if I could use the old switch on the new pump? It really is quit frustrating when something doesn't go to plan lol.

Hmm bit strange this, still not starting but there is a high pitched noise coming from the plug that connects to the pump, the noise goes if I disconnect?

Ah lovely thanks. I must admit without the pump having any cogs I was struggling i to see how timing could be effected. I thought I did leave it for a while but maybe that wasn't enough, I tried to start the engine by turning it over then leaving it for a few seconds and then doing it again...

For those of you thinking of doing this and are unsure, save yourselves the hassle and go to a garage or get a reconditioned part. For whatever reason my pump still leaks even after taking it apart 3 times and checking the seals. I don't have a problem removing the pump, but the repair of it...

Ok stripped everything out and fitted new seals in the pump, everything went smoothly. I made sure I put the little metal washers the right way. However when everything was put back together it leaked pretty bad. I can't figure out why this could be,though I did read someone had the same issue...

Great reply Thank you! Can I just make sure I am removing the right nut....After removing the 17mm access plug there is then a 21mm nut inside. Am I right in thinking this needs to be removed before the special tool is fitted?

Ouch I bet that was expensive! At least it's under warranty! I just cant seem to find a walkthrough where you place the timing chain securing nut!
