I suspect like me you have failed to change the cheapest item on your list which is the injector seals. The pump is probably noisy as it is trying to push air, mine was incredibly so until it built up pressure so it was changed - no difference. Replaced the air bleed valve - no difference...

Ok, think I can help you with this one having gone through it myself and solved it with the help of various people in the know on here. Firstly is your oil level rising and smelling of diesel if so rubber O rings on injectors almost certainly the cause. Mine wasn't and I had starting issues...

Oh well, changed the oil last Thursday although not the filter. Here we are Tuesday and it smells of diesel again. Totally peed off now as having already spent a Grand I'm guessing the head is knackered. The strange thing is that all the work already done has got her running perfectly again...

Leomas, garage changed injector seals, loom and fuel pump so neither of us have any idea which was actually responsible although I think injector seals as per the learned members on this forum:) I intend to change the oil now anyway, could someone please direct me to the sump plug location...

All genuine parts mate, have only driven it 3 miles since collecting it. It is only a whiff of diesel and as I said oil level not risen so hopefully not a problem? Cheers, Y

Thanks for all your help people, got the old girl back today seems to be running ok after injector seals, loom and fuel pump replacement. Can't pinpoint exactly which one caused the problem but as per Sierrafery my money is on the washers. One small point, oil has a very slight whiff of diesel...

Finally got it to a garage Monday 21st took 40 mins to do 4 miles died three times and I had to do the bleed routine every time. Been there ever since, went up today to see how they were doing and have been told they have had it out for a 10 mile run without any problems but the next day it died...

That was how they did my fuel pipes. Carpet up and remove inspection cover. Was only charged two hours labour is apparently "a pig of a job" but no need to remove the tank.

Mine was diagnosed with a leaking fuel tank but it turned out to be the fuel lines from the pump in the tank to the filter housing. If it leaks all the time probably is the tank but my money would be on the fuel lines which only leak when the pump is running. Cost for the line kit from LR is...

Recently had mine done, if you go to someone who knows what they are doing it is not a tank out job just a bit fiddly. I was charged two hours labour (£108) plus part (£130) and 50 quid for recovery to garage.
