    New Year - New Noise

Oh hell and ****y poo pants:( It's not exactly an exhaustive test, but three starts without touching clutch pedal, then one with the clutch down. No clutch, no noise, clutch down and scrunch noise. No indication of any clutch problem otherwise though? So, should I start saving for a...

    Does anyone know why...

My Defender is just the same. Major sheet of water right over the screen and roof. Probably a bit worse with the steering guard fitted. But you is chucking a large brick at a puddle! Like they said, slow down and give your chassis a clean:D

    New Year - New Noise

Cheers Dippy and James, this was my suspision, with hindsight and a bit more searching:rolleyes:. I think it could be the bendix sticking. Much prefer this to a clutch issue:( Time for removal and clean up me thinks and see if this cures it. Otherwise, new starter motor required before more...

    New Year - New Noise

Could be cold belt I suppose. It's only started happening in the last few weeks. Does'nt happen any other time than on start up and only for a second when I release the key. I'll find a volunteer to start it and stick me head under the bonnet tomorrow for a closer look.

    New Year - New Noise

Yes stops after about 1 second. Fan belt and tension pully are recent. Water pump looked ok when I changed the P gasket last year.

    New Year - New Noise

Ok not quite new year. I was hoping ya'll could help me with a new noise. It's familliar to old bangers, I'm sure you'd all recognise it. On starting up, after the engin fires, there is a scunch screach, a little lit the noise when you try to start a car that is already running...

Why are Roof Tents/Oz Tents so Expensive?

I've got a 2 man pop tent from GoOutdoors (cant see it on their site now). It is a lined version, bit better than the standard festival tent and about £40.00. Been using for a couple of years now. Quick to put up, don't take much room and never get wet. I camped in it last weekend, during the...

    CB Aerial for FM Radio

Piccie time. Here's what I ended up doing. Got hold of a brass 3/8th plumming end cap, tapped a 5mm thread in the end for the car aerial then filled in the void with some plastic metal to give it some more strength. Not used it in anger yet as I'm actually getting a pretty decent signal...
