Ackshirley could be the starter solenoid terminals need cleaning/replacing :)

Check the starter leads and connections are clean and secure. if they are ok check voltage from the ignition could be dodgy switch ;)

Nah They're supposed to be held in until the engine is running properly in cold weather ;) Wouldn't recommend holding it in for a couple of miles but if you needed to move a couple o hundred yards it would be fine too. Again must stress only a one off get out jail free not as a regular...

I figured the engine would just draw it through.... dont get me wrong it runs rough and wont accelerate but it did get me home. Your ignition switch has four positions off P1 which allows power to cigarette lighter and not sure if much else P2 which lights up dash and allows everything else...

Mine still runs even if the fuel pump relay is removed ;) I think you have a dodgy connection possibly live feed from the immobiliser to the Red Ecu plug. Will it run if you keep the ignition held at position 3?

Is it immobilising? When it cuts out does the red LED flash?

I don't know much about Rangies and only a learner where auto boxes are concerned...:o But sounds like a poor electrical connection to gearbox ecu to me. ;)

There's quite a few chaffing points on different Landies not just hoses but looms too. Would solve a lot of issues if vehicle manufacturers would irradicate them. All you can do is go over your vehicle with a fine toothed comb and look for potential trouble spots. Not sure anout a piece of...
