Okay so you are suggesting that the inertia switch could also be at fault?

Okay, I will try that. It would make sense that the main relay that supplies the feed for the fuel pump and glow plug could be the culprit... Fingers crossed, I'll be in touch tomorrow.. Ben ;-)

Sorry, it is a manual. Fuel pumps do not turn on at all.

Right update. Tried the inertia switch and also tried starting her with a battery off his other td5 used as a daily. Still no glow plug light, cranks but no fuel pump priming etc.. Just cranks and cranks but no signs of starting etc not even a splutter? Ben

Talking of batteries what are my best options,? I can get a Yuasa super heavy duty 115ah for £80 delivered.
