    Immobiliser issues

FIRST check that there are NO radio emitting devices anywhere near you that operate on or near 433 mHz frequency. If there are ANY, such as a weather station or greenhouse monitor that sends data to some device in the house, or any of the radio controlled shop devices, TURN THEM OFF (take...

    Discovery 300tdi HELP URGENTLY NEEDED

Where is Landylass21 based? It is always good to know that from the start - there may be Landyzoner nearby who could dash over and be a knight in shining armour, fix it, and get a date all at the same time. Standard thing to do Miss LandyLass21, is to pressurise the cooling system using an...

    Oil in turbo pipe

Best plan before messing with anything is to fit a BOOST GAUGE. You need to know YES or NO, is the turbo blowing as hard as it should, as soon as it should? It should hit nearly 1 BAR boost (about 14-15 psi) from about 2,000 rpm with full throttle. If there's no smoke from the exhaust (as in...

    Hiclone kits

looking at that post again, is it legal to use the word "faster" in regard to a 2.5NA Landy? I used to have one so I know about this. :D

td5 clutch, can this be done?

If you are not a bona fide MOTOR TRADER, then CAVEAT EMPTOR applies. It means "Let the buyer beware", and is a basic principle of English Law. If you sold the car in good faith as seen, and as inspected (or not) by the buyer, then you have no responsibility for what happens to the car from...

I agree. Paddocks do themselves no favours selling stuff like this.

    Hiclone kits

That might not be true . . . The HiClones things will (as in WILL) cause obstruction in the inlet air flow, so inevitably power will be reduced, and the turbo may have to work a little harder too to try to keep manifold pressures up. But the balloons might INCREASE the aerodynamic shape of...

    Battery advice required

The BATTERY is essential in the alternator system. It is the battery that tells the alternator how hard it needs to work. Basically, the lower the battery voltage, the harder the alternator will work to try to increase system voltage to about 13.8 volts nominal. With the battery...

30 year rolling car tax exemption petition

Well yes, I agree, but the plain fact is this - the government has no money. Every penny it gets has to come from us by way of TAXES, so I do my best to avoid spending my money on high-tax goods, tobacco, alcohol, betting, and even fuel. I make good use of the BioDiesel and WVO system...

    Clutch pedal staying on floor

Dear James, Would I do a thing like that? I wonder if Mr Ratty opened the box I sent him?

30 year rolling car tax exemption petition

Of one thing we may be very sure, and this is it: whatever they do, if they do anything, the motoring public WILL PAY MORE over-all. They don't even pretend about parking charges any more - it's a TAX, and actually it's all set up to MAXIMISE PENALTY TICKETS, because that is where they make...

    Interior light timer

No problem. I reckon you need to find that wire, and tape it. I see Mr Ratty knows about your second problem. I can tell you, I don't. CharlesY

    Interior light timer

It looks as if the light WILL go out eventually. (apparently after 10 minutes in a Disco TD5) if for example a door isn't shut fully. or if a door switch becomes faulty and sends a "door open" signal to the BCU. The Defender system is probably similar but for all I know the timings may be...

    Interior light timer

It might, if the wires reached the bodywork . Rave for a Disco says Interior courtesy lamps To determine when to provide an interior courtesy lamps enable output, the BCU checks the following input conditions: l Ignition state. l Transit mode. l Driver’s door open. l Passenger or rear door...

    Urgent help

Exactly so James, in the Landie that is correct. The fluid should in fact rise as the clutch wears. Funny thing is, it never does. One wonders where the fluid goes. The reverse flush "bleeding" works well in almost every case of the fluid getting too low.

I think it is timed by the Body Control Unit. It may be possible to use a Nanocom or Hawkeye to set the timer. Hmmm..... I wonder who would know that? CharlesY
