Doesn't the turbo kick in at 2500 rpm? Does this coincide with the noises?

Sounds like the "three amigos". Search in here there's loads on it. Mine needed both rear hubs changed to cure. But my fault codes were coming up as "intermittent abs sensor" faults L and R. Not convinced your "gizmo" is the real deal!!

Unfortunately, your Pappy was right!

I fill the new filter with fuel then put it on, seems to help! Then purge as well.

Its more important to see what the codes say than just "reset" them. I think around 8 out of 10 times "3 Amigos" ends up in new hub!!

They do just pull apart, but they're tight for a reason. Changed both my rear hubs last June. Bought mid priced hubs (£350 for two). One has failed (leaking oil through the bearing) but they have done the honourable thing a sent a replacement hub. Changed that yesterday, see how it goes...

7 seater has air suspension which divides opinion on here! I think it's brilliant to have for towing but is subject to potential failure, which springs aren't really!! Dave

If bothered on fuel, check tyre pressures and unnecessary weight in the car. The TD5 will breeze 70 all day, every day- as long as it is maintained and has no faults. Noise? All relative I suppose. You could find a hundred cars noisier than your Mondeo and you could find another hundred...

I had the same thing. At the time it had to go to the dealers- Ended up it was both bags leaking, pipe work leaking and needed a new slabs ecu. The only thing actually okay was the compressor! This was years ago (never used to do any mechanicking, but had to learn some!) but now I'd have a go...

Depends partly on your annual mileage. I've got a TD5 and it does a consistent 30mpg. Used to have a V8 Defender, it was nice but 15mpg hurts a bit! Dave
