    Defender 90 roof rack

http://www.flatdoguk.com/ My RAX is two years old new and still in perfect condition. If you can, go to one of the Land Rover shows as they usually have them at about 20% off

    Leak back

Check the little leak off pipes that link the injectors, it was those on mine

Chassis number swap onto galv chassis

I saw the stamp kits for £12 on ebay yesterday, was wondering whether to do that for some piece of mind. That said it has passed two MOTs since I did the rebuild with no problems, it's just if I ever come to sell it.

Anyone know the grey colour code for the Freestyle alloys?

As I thought it is a no.... Someone somewhere said Rover Grey but it seems a bit of a generic name!

Anyone know the grey colour code for the Freestyle alloys?

As above, does anyone know what the name of, or colour code for the grey freestyle alloys with the silver rims? I want to paint the centre caps as it has all come off. Other than that I'll take one to halfords, but my local one doesn't do the scanning thing Thanks

    Seat box covering ideas

I used some stable matting when I made the draw system in the back, so I may well do that our local horse type supplier place has some outside that might do a good job

    Seat box covering ideas

I might just bite the bullet and go for this, but it seems so much money for a bit of material http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Defender-R380-TD5-Hardura-90-110-front-seat-box-rubber-matting-300-TD-/331822965183?hash=item4d4230a1bf:g:wNAAAOSwJqpXoMbN

    Seat box covering ideas

Amazingly mine is leak free from the engine side of things! I want some kind of textured matting, I just can't find the right thing to search for on ebay. If there is enough left I want to do some floor mats too, as my original ones are looking a bit tired after 135k miles!

    Seat box covering ideas

How much is pricey? The ones LRI do on ebay do are £100+, hence me thinking I could do something myself. I have lots of angle aluminium from a failed racking project, so I was going to paint it and do the edges nicely with that.

    Seat box covering ideas

I've done some of them, the big glass thing in the roof makes fixing all of them an imposibility

    Seat box covering ideas

As a cheapish job that I think will make quite a difference to my 90 I am going to try and recover the seat box and replace the torn textured vinyl stuff. Has anyone done this with decent results? And if so what did you use? I'm a bit reluctant to use carpet as I haven't sorted all of the...

Which spec defender is best to live with?

No, I don't think a defender would happily cruise at 80. I know mine is only a TDi but after 70 it gets scary and doesn't feel safe

    Towing legalities

It can tow 2000kg braked. Not recommended though, it is freaking scary seeing as the car only weighs 1550kg!

    James's 90

No, I've been on a 5 week drive to Mongolia in a 2002 VW Polo. Got back yesterday! Gotta pay off some debt from that and then I will start on the Defender Yeah, mine has both TD5 and TDi fuel tanks, they are both Terrafirma Ali ones. Weren't amazingly easy to fit, but were ok with the help of...

    Disco 2 TD5

Not any specific hints on a D2, but if you stick the headlining back up use "high temperature adhesive" rather than evostick as it won't peel back off on a warm day

    Lug nut cover removal tool?

I believe the caps are actually attached and you can't remove them. The problem is that the surface under the caps rusts and they swell, hence the 27mm socket not fitting. It's pretty cheap to buy new nuts, that's what I did.

Off-roading in France June 2016 anyone?

Oh, no, now I feel really bad! You can def pencil us in for next year though. I think we are going to go to Scotland instead, though I got drunk and cut my hand open on Sat, so my mechaniching skills are a little limited at the moment!

Off-roading in France June 2016 anyone?

That's a shame. We are also unfortunately out too as I can't get my passport back from the Iran embassy until Monday, gutted. Next year I guess...
