    Door options- help!

Yeah, if I build some they are coming from SP. The problem is that there isn't really anything that can be saved from the old doors, I think even the glass is too scratched. I didn't realise that the tdci doors rust, though SP do galvanised tdci style ones too

    Door options- help!

Ok, so I'm starting the bodywork phase of my 90 build finally and starting with doors, so I have three options: 1. New complete doors- I am struggling to find new take off ones for normal money, Keith Gott just quoted me £1680 for a pair. 2. Build TDCi doors- I would like TDCi doors as they...

    Noob question...

If you are connecting straight to the battery as I have with my fridge then there is no need to disconnect the rest of the car IMO. Just make sure you connect the positive up last and that you have a fuse near the battery end. Those nifty fuse boxes on ebay that light up when the fuse has gone...

Defender 110 bush and towbar dilemmaed the

I had an interesting chat (well I think it was) with the guy from the garage that did our rally car, they have a side company that does race car prep. Apparently superpro are the ones to go for as they are remachined after they are cast and they 100% fit properly. They tried flo flex and had a...

    Another 90 Rebuild

Looking amazing now :) My back door holds water too. I tried to drill a drain hole but failed! To be honest at the rate that the back door is rusting I'll be replacing it in a couple of years or so anyway. The power loss on mine has been mostly fixed by freeing off the little pin inside the...

    Help please

Mongol Rally or the Mongolia Charity Rally. I just did the first one, you buy a car up to 1.2L then drive it to Mongolia unaided. There were 311 teams this year so you meet some amazing people, I recommend it to anyone who feels like they need a break from normal life, even if it is out of your...

Brackets for accessories for Roof Racks

http://www.flatdoguk.com/search.asp?search=quick+fist I have a couple of these attached and are pretty good. If you put a bolt through them and then drill a hole through it you could padlock it to stop someone stealing the hi-lift

Custom Trailer Build - Any IVA Help?

I'm interested in this as am considering making an expedition trailer from scratch

Hi Guys, some help would be really appreciated :)

Hey. Yes, get a diesel freelander, there doesn't seem to be a massive difference between the Rover diesel and the BMW TD4. The head gaskets are more prone to go on the K series petrols so are best avoided in my opinion. We had a 2006 HSE one and it was a good car, had no major problems in the...

    Parts

If it moves or your life depends on it don't use britpart! Actually, or if it needs to fit anywhere nicely... I use a combination of ebay, LRDirect.com and paddocks

    Dennis my 90 project

I changed the whole arm after spending hours trying to just change the joint! Camping matts are good for sound proofing, have made a massive difference in mine. Make sure you use "High temperature adhesive" or it will all come off in hot weather.

    Chassis swap

I had some issues with this, I solved them by bending the central hanger and getting the back section welded. I'll get you the part numbers for the central part when I get home this evening. I am planning on getting a custom stainless one made at some point as the welded part isn't holding up...

Chassis number swap onto galv chassis

On my recent trip to Mongolia the only time our car got its VIN checked in 10+ border crossings was in Turkmenistan and even then they were happy with a sticker under the bonnet!

Defender 90 first car- tips & advice needed

As for learning things, just make sure you have a land rover workshop manual handy and you can do most things. I'm not a fan of the Haynes manual. I've managed to get copies of most of the 300tdi ones on here https://1drv.ms/f/s!AuDnjHWJxhEygap6Fg8zOq1vVXWnzQ In terms of driving them, I also...
