Has second gear been crunching or difficult to engage either from third or first? I had that symptom just before reverse played up and eventually the gearbox bearings needed replacing. You may also have the clutch fork distorted or pierced by fulcrum pivot. Whereabouts in the Aude are you?

Have you tried checking fuel pump delivery pressure.? The pump might be getting tired.

Welcome to the forum. Have you had a cambelt/pump timing belt done? I had poor or non -starting on L series that was just a smidgeon out at the pump (less than a mill) which was fine until the cold weather came.

Have you tried a direct connection from the battery positive to the signal tag on the starter motor? You may want to chock the wheels and check gearbox in neutral or park.

Try and get the best you can afford- I've had a Snap-on one for 18 years and oiled up with everyday use has been brilliant. You might be able to sign up for getting it on tick!
