Use a 300tdi turbo and it's a lot easier, just a straight swap. The 200tdi turbo will fit in a SWB but it's tight. The deeper chassis rails on a LWB means the 200 turbo won't fit in.

Well series land rovers are smaller holes than many cars. At least there is something of value at the end of it whereas a Saxo for instance is loosing money what ever you do! Good luck with the repairs...I see there is a galvanised SWB chassis on Ebay at the moment....!

Of course without PAS you'll be saving a gym membership!

Well here is an update chaps! The insurance folks paid up £4250 and I keep the wreck which means I got my 'agreed' valuation after all. I've lighted upon a coil sprung galv chassis so the yellow peril may well ride again! I have a long shopping list but mostly I just need a new body now...

The alternative is to fit the washer bars from a Pug 405 to the wiper arms. It works well for me!

I swapped my turbo for one from a 300tdi and it drops straight down and misses the chassis, although not by much and it's never touched it either!

Hello Top-cat, yes you are right re Calibra. I didn't realise it they couldn't write it off. An independent assessor said beyond economical repair and gave a valuation which seemed fair. I was surprised that the 3rd party didn't send an engineer as well so was sort of glad to have it sorted so...

Yes I did the steering relay, what a swine! Assessed at £4250 which was fair enough less £750 for the salvage (rather optimistic I thought) but at least I know the parts that aren't bent are in good condition for the next project!!

Yes Your Honour, the car and I have been close for years to the point where I can now feel it's pain! I think most Landys are a pain in the neck at times but we don't call it whiplash, we call it character!!
