    Freelander Central Locking

Thanks for responding Bukko. The problem is the main key does not have a fob as such ie you don't press it to lock the car it has to be inserted into the drivers door. The 2no front doors lock this way (although the passenger side then has to be unlocked from the inside!). And no being a...

    Freelander Central Locking

I have just purchased my second Freelander (1.8 Freelander S 2002) When I took possession obviously everything was unlocked. I went shopping and of course locked everything up (except for tailgate door which I locked manually) - on returning to the vehicle I discovered that the drivers door...

    Auto Gearbox Query

Hi I think I already know the answer to this query but am just checking that I'm right. I have a 1996 P38 HSE Automatic. When pulling away, usually at speed up an incline, the message on the dashboard comes up stating 'Gearbox Overheating' - 'Refer to Handbook'. I have checked in the...

    EAS Fault & Lighting

Well just had to tell you guys, got the EAS sorted. Took it to a brilliant RR/LR mechanic that I discovered on line, local to where I live, he put it on the diagnostic and within an hour sorted the problem. Even though it was a new Air Compressor, (supposedly) it was found to be faulty. Fitted...

    EAS Fault & Lighting

Thanks Wammers. I'm taking it to a LR/RR mechanic local to me who is going to put it on a diagnostic machine for me and will start from there. 'Fumble Fingers' as you called him, keeps suggesting that I buy a valve block off ebay (he's seen one on there) and he will pay towards it. However...

Hi Guys Having just purchased a second hand P38, which I loved when I drove it, 24hrs down the line I was due to start on a long journey and encountered the following error message 'EAS Fault 35 mhp limit' (or words to that effect. I called out the guy who I had purchased the car off (who was...

    Good lr garage fred

Hi I'd like to recommend the garage that did my MOT and the work needed for it. Medlins at Langarth, Threemilestone, Truro, Cornwall (for all those of you here in the very South West). Absolutely brilliant and very reasonable considering the Freelander needed a new CAT :( they even dropped...

    Ignition Switch Problems

Hi Having just managed to get my Freelander 1.8 through it's MOT, I now find that the ignition switch is causing starting problems. The local LR Garage has quoted £67 for a new switch. I have hunted on line (1st Choice Spares) and can obviously find cheaper alternatives, which are 2nd hand...

Hi Guys Long time now speak. Touch wood not had any major problems lately ;) (of course now have jinxed myself). Anyhow, this is a small item that has been a niggle more than a problem for some time now so any ideas would be helpful. When I go to open the rear door (Freelander 1.8k btw)...

    Overheating on Emissions Test

Ok - so we now failed the MOT on emissions and failed rear numberplate light :( So have been advised that a good idea would be to:- renew air filter buy additive that you can put in the fuel run for 20 miles then have tested again or all of the above lolololol Oh and buy a new light bulb...
