Great choice after all that too. I’ve had BFG A/T all year round on all my Defenders for the last 25 years .....great all rounder, not too noisy on tarmac, and get you across most ‘sensible’ off road challenges. Cheers A
If cash is not abundant, then I’d leave FPR and loom til they go (or they might never). You’d get plenty of warning, and still (almost certainly) mobile while you get the parts in. Sounds a good find, enjoy! A
Usually til about half a mile from where you are going on a freezing day.....!
Not quickly that’s for sure (though 30 mins does sound quite a long time....). And yes, sits just below half way on the gauge. If it stays in the cold zone it’s probably loss of coolant and if you ignore/don’t...
I have a Brownchurch with ladder bought new in 1993, currently swapped onto its third CSW. Galv a bit thin on rubbed top rails maybe, but basically as good as the day I bought it. Hope their quality is as good today! Good luck, A
Daft question......you checked the bulbs...? Often folks drive with one out not noticed, then when second one goes think they’ve both gone together...... but not you I’m sure!
Sounds much like the stalk switch - they do give up frequently. Might show contact under multimeter load, but give up...
Mmmm, but if the externals look iffy, the legs are prob worse.....?? As buyer (if they know what they are doing) will prod further in, best to check now and bite the bullet if necessary? You'd see most of the outlay back on a better selling price I'd say, and look like a caring owner.... ;-)...
I assumed they were to feed in looms/nuts/bolts in build....?
No draft on mine, so I suspect the 'vent' at the bottom is yours rusted out or mine blocked with rust and mud..... ;-)
OP vanished .... so to follow the hijack briefly (with due apols) ............
There was a thread on indicator self-cancelling probs several of us have/had.
One conclusion I have yet to put to the test was that some found the actual stalk had bent over the years and was pre-loaded by the...
Hope you get some useful stats - an interesting angle.
I'd steer clear of phrases such as '....like half the Defenders ever made...' and spell 'product's' correctly too as a suggestion ...... I know.... it was only a forum post ;-) Cheers, A
So c'mon then Badger - now you've had the sympathy.... the real issues - did the RAC know anything about it, and was the box or TB duff and covered under the seller's warranty? Hope a good outcome on this angle. Cheers, A
Caveat emptor rings a bell..... I’d be after some more convincing detail on the RAC inspection, and if that wasn’t done then different story. 2 decent new discs wouldn’t cost much. Gearbox/tbox another matter - hope you get to the bottom of that. Good luck, A
