    Flashing for noise reduction

IIRC the flashing changes, rather than removes the resonant frequency of the panel, to one that is less likly to coincide with engine/vehicle bourne vibrations. hence no need to slap it all over, a smallish patch will work just as well. Closed cell works on 2 levels, it dampens any remaining...

    Car Tax amomaly

Its quite simple. Over the counter/card transaction its half of the full year plus 10% If you pay by monthly DD its 1/12 of the full year plus 5% For you to only tax by DD for 6 months, you would have to go and cancel the DD AND your insurance. because under new rules you can't have it SORN...

    Standing on the roof...

Now this might sound like a really stupid question, but... Can I stand on the roof of my fender, without damaging it? In the long term, I aim on getting a proper roof rack, but at present I have roof bars, and need to get up to it to attach bikes to it. climbing on the roof, and doing it from...

Decent Inner tubes - where the hell do i buy them?

Shouldnt have that much of an issue, ive only had 3 flats in 3 years, and one was caused by the valve stem being the wrong size (came to me form previous owner like that) Get the tyres off, and check the inside of them, some cheap ones are rough on the inside, which isnt an issue tubeless, but a...

    Biodiesel

300tdi? if so, its fine, only problem thus far is changing leak offs every 18 months or so. I am led to beleive that in the long term (of in excess of 300K on bio) the seal in the injector pump will want changing, when it does, get a viton one fitted.

    Are britparts that bad ?

dont confuse OEM with genuine. Genuine are overpriced parts, with 80% added on for the landrover badged box. OEM (Original Eqipment Manufacturer) should be the same as genuine, but at sensible prices, eg timken, delphi, bosch etc. Pattern should fit, and are copies of OEM, but usually cheap...

    Pattern vs OEM

What it should be. Genuine: comes in LR box with a 80% price hike. OEM: Original Equipment Manufacturer, should be the same thing as the genuine, but straight from the manufacturer in their box. Pattern: Something that resembles the part you want, and should fit. Though OEM seems to be...

    Replacing rear shock absorbers

The one thats a sod is usually the top mount. Its quite often seized that bad thet it shears the mount. Luckily the shock mounts bolt on, and are relativly cheap. the bottom mount, you can access with a cutter if needed. if you have the time, clean the bolt up with a wire brush & spray with...

    MOT and Dashbards

the dome heads etc were for the SVA test, much more stringent than the MOT, youd be surprised at what you can get away with for the MOT
