    Battery removal

Advice please (for some reason search result gives "forum error"!) As expected the bolt holding the battery retaining clamp won't unscrew, I can just feel the nut on the end of the under the battery try turning. It looks as though there is enough room to get the angle grinder positioned to grind...

    Position of USB socket?

Hi All I am considering installing a USB socket just behind gear stick as on photo, so far I haven't checked on clearance behind panel which may prevent fitting Is it a good position or maybe there are better and where would I pick up a live connection? Thanks

What have you done to your Freelander today

Fitted a new fuel filter to my face lift FL 1 Why o why did Land Rover decide to put filter just in front of rear wheel when I'm sure space could have been found in the engine bay and the filter/ pump could have been fixed to the bulkhead On a positive note the pipe connections were easily...

    window regulators

There are many threads about window cables breaking so is it worthwhile removing door card and covering the cables in oil/grease and whilst you're at it anything else that should be lubricated with the door cards removed?

    Freelander 1 Heated Door Mirror

I looked this up in the Haynes manual and followed their instructions ie position the glass so that the lower edge is fully in, then carefully ease your fingers in behind the upper edge of the glass and gently pull the glass outwards until released fro the retaining clips. I was surprised how...

    Hill decent switch

Thanks again for ideas I removed HDC switch and gave it a good spray with switch contact fluid. When switched on I have a solid green HDC light which flashes once 6mph is exceeded in first gear or when selecting another gear, presumably this means the HDC is working correctly Unfortunately I...

    Hill decent switch

Thanks for comprehensive replies on HDC operation I have checked again and the HDC light does not come on when the switch is pressed. All warning lights show when the ignition is switched on and, as they should, go off after a few seconds. I have not got diagnostic equipment so, are there any...

    Hill decent switch

Silly question time! How do i know if the HDC is working correctly. I've tried it on a steep slope on a tarmac road surface, foot off the accelerator, engine revs went up on over run, I did not notice any braking. Any thoughts?
