    VM6 Motori

It is quite slow to turn over, and will only fire if I run the glow plug cycle 3 times in succession. No smoke once it's warmed up though. Runs clean as a whistle and starts fine then too. Hopefully not a compression issue but ho hum these things are sent to test! I'll keep my fingers crossed...

    VM6 Motori

Smoke is kind of very light grey, nearly white and smells like diesel. Water and oil are both clear. I have to run the glow plugs through about 3 cycles before it will start (haven't pulled them and checked if there all working yet), so I wonder if they may be the fault. Sounds odd but it sort...

    VM6 Motori

Hi all Just purchased a 1986 Land Rover 90 which has a few interesting quirks. As well as having a sailsbury back axle fitted with a weird prop that has two different sized yolk's (yet to be identified), it also has a VM HR 692 HT motori straight 6 engine in it. Information on this conversion...

    Aging a series 3

I'll swop your galv chassis for a nice old rusty one if your after older look? Joking aside, it looks great and anyone who knows landy will know what it is either way. Anyone who doesn't, just say it's an old series landrover, take them for a ride in it and they'll probably thinks it' from the...

    Introduction

Welcome aboard. As above paddocks etc are good. You can also get the boot floor, sills, inner arches and footwell panels and a pillar repair panels which you'll inevitably need. Lol. Hope not and you have a good un. I'm just bitter about all the tin worm I found on my old one. 300tdi is a...

    Hello

Welcome! You want to get yourself a series for that money. If your boy can drive that he'll be fine driving anything. Fun to work on together when it breaks down too.

    Heater control

The valves only let a piddly amount of water through anyway. Bin it off, and as said, you don't get hot air unless you turn on the blower. We live in the UK! How often do you really need to blow cool air around the cab? Anyway that's what the gaps/holes are for. Lol plus vents and windows

    First real Landy!!

Thanks for the welcome gents. It's a 2.25 petrol with what seems to be a high compression series 2a engine (241 engine no prefix). I'm already impressed as after buying him I had a 98 mile trip round the m25 and up the m1 at the dizzying speed of 50mph. Once I work out how to post pictures I'll...

Recommend a landy specialist in MK?

Hi, know it's a few months late now but can deffo give a vote for Cowley & Co. Not linked but have delt with them for years. Pete at Loughran bros in Towcester is another knowledgeable bloke and Steve at Barnwell Engineering on Tanners Drive Blakelands near Newport Pagnell.

    First real Landy!!

Hello all. New member and new (for me) Landy owner. Just brought a 1979 Series 3 and already in love with the leaky noisy rusty old dog. Had a disco and some Jap 4x4s before but I feel like I'm home now.
