    Free Wheel Hubs

☹️ To be honest Selectro don't seem to be the most popular. Though I wish someone was selling when these failed to function. Bizarrely I did search and found they seem to be quite popular in other countries fetching many $$$. Shame really as the operation was better than the MAP I had many moons...

    Free Wheel Hubs

Pair of Selectro Free Wheel Hubs, taken off Series LandRover. One side does not engage as a spring tang has snapped on selector. Think I over-wound it but did work fine before my stupid mistake. £50 ono

Disco 1 REAR MANUAL SUNROOF STILL LEAKING EVEN AFTER BEING PERM SEALED SHUT - HELP!!

I paid about £14 for a full set of roof rail seals, eight in total. In truth they are basically dense foam pads that you could remove straighten and refit with a good sealer. Hang on. I'm talking Disco' 2, but guess they gonna be similar. The leaks certainly are ! Good look.

Disco 1 REAR MANUAL SUNROOF STILL LEAKING EVEN AFTER BEING PERM SEALED SHUT - HELP!!

How long since it was sealed ? I found with mine the drain trays would fill up over time and overflow days later. BTW, sunroof drains are favourite but just about anywhere can let water in and then run along headliner and exit at a convenient place !

    Freelander 2 (LR2) Parking sensors

If it works, take the first one back. Did you try swapping the sensors on the car in case it a wiring fault ?

S3 Rear brake grabs when reversing

Had similar problem with my SWB Series 2. On investigation I was surprised to find that one cylinder on each side had seized. I replaced with Delphi cylinders and renewed all the springs with Britpart items. Cleaned the backplate and resembled with coper grease on all moving surfaces. But not...

Series 3 Selectro Free wheel hub springs

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but did you find the missing/broken spring ? If not anyone know how much a set of selectro hubs worth with a broken spring ?

Foxwell 520 pro need to switch movement sensor.

The receiver is the little black box under the rear headliner, near the rearmost interior light. Damp is an issue here. Dunno if they all same, but my sensors where above LH B pillar and RHR near grab handle.

Foxwell 520 pro need to switch movement sensor.

Lovely ! One trick that worked with the under headliner receiver was popping open the box and storing the printed circuit in dried rice overnight.

Foxwell 520 pro need to switch movement sensor.

Don't want to make daft suggestion but have you tried cleaning sensors. Had issue with mine, tried closing vents, changing battery, then cleaned the sensors, checked connections and all was good. Well with the alarm !

Does brand of oil matter? - genuine question!

Yes, diesel engine oil did have a detergent in, not sure if it still does. I am of the belief that sometimes a flush can cause more isues, so leave alone unless you prepared ... Also, the TD5 had two oil filters, centrifugal up top then the standard lower down.

    Chassis Treatment

A fitter I once worked with used old Engine oil and Diesel on the company Transits, with good results. I was going to use this on my Series 2 but remembered the mess ! My first treatment was Waxoyl mixed 30% cheap engine oil and 20% White spirit. I drilled holes using a step drill between the...

Its the simple things (Usually the simple thing working on the engine)

Yep, we all been there. Years ago I borrowed my Dad's VW 411. It wouldn't start so after trying the obvious called the RAC. He tried most of what I had, then tried a tow start, nothing. He looked at the battery, under the passenger seat, and enquired of a random wire hanging loose ? Nothing says...

    TD5i - Deflating Rear Suspension

Could be going into access mode if door is open, but more likely leaky spring. Inflate fully and spray with soapy water, bubble = leaks.

    TD5i - Deflating Rear Suspension

Not that difficult to replace if you into DiY. Decent jack and stands and a few hand tools is all you need. Couple of hours will have you right. Think I paid £100 the pair for Dunlops, they came with instructions.

I am probably as guilty as the next person but it would be nice if we knew the outcome of such problems for future reference.
