Thanks for that mate, doesn’t,t really help,the diff was a good spare I had, only thing I did was put a new oil seal in and now it locks up when I tighten the castle nut,

The only spacer I noted went on between this catleated nut and the flange, quite thick a bit like me lol,could do with a blown up diagram,

Ok changed diff and fitted a new pinion oil seal but when I tightened the castleated nut it locked up, I contacted d l s and they told me there are two types of oil seal, so they sent me the other one which seemed a bit more robust than the Brit part one, but still locks up when tightened...

Think it’s knackered inside, got a rumble when I spin it but no play, will have to change the whole diff, have got a spare,

As above, noticed quite a lot of play in flange to prop shaft, I assume there is a bearing at that point in th diff which I suppose is kaput, is it a case of releasing the drive shafts to release the drive pinion, or is there an easier way, it’s a Rover diff, thanks, Pete

I have just put a new britpart sender on it, have tested that and get a high/low resistance reading when moving the arm up and down so that seems ok, I nave put a new digital voltage regulator and get a reading of 9.8 volts from that, as I understand it if you ground the green/black it should...

Found it, looked at my other series 3 and that hadn’t got the spacer on so took so took the spacer off as measuring the lever on the pump wasn’t,t reaching the cam, so now working fine. I don’t know why some have spacers on must be a different pump with longer lever,anyway thanks all and hope...

Anybody had problems with Brit part petrol pump, the pump will not pump fuel whilst on the engine, but the manual lever does pump,,have checked the lift cam in the engine and it has about 1/8th of an inch lift, is that normal or does the lift cam wear, hope you can help
