    Can't get sedimenter off

You can buy the timing belt cover plate with the fitting already on it, like these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xdiscovery+300tdi+breather+kit&_nkw=discovery+300tdi+breather+kit&_sacat=0 I cut a new plate and welded a 1/4 BSP (I...

SLS dropping over night new air springs fitted

I recently had the same problem and it was the valve block leaking, only found out after I had changed both the air bags, expensive lesson eh?

Disco 1, Worth buying a welding set?

Its more a necessity than an option :D Gotta be a mig, have a look at Carkes / Machine Mart and try to get in there on a vat free day, I think there's one in January, their own brand are a very good starter, not sure how much they are now but they will be on their web site. Think about getting...

    Water! everywhere!

Any rust holes in the front inner wheel arches, behind the plastic liner? I have seen plenty with holes there or even the floor pan, could be the windscreen, I have heard of the alpine lights letting water in through the seals and it then runs along channels inside the car, tbh its gonna be...

What should a Disco 2 smell like?

+1 for the cabin/pollen filter also a lot of rancid stench in cars can be caused by a screen wash bottle that needs cleaning out. I've used bio brisk too and it is good.

    DA sanders for bodywork.

Da's use lots of air, so look at the cfm. I have an old Blue Point one and it's fine but it does keep the compressor busy

    Winch choice help

For what it's worth my winch came with the Disco when I bought it, unknown make and not new, I too have only used it on pay and play days and broke the clutch lever off almost straight away but I haven't missed it. Its been underwater, buried in mud and silt, rarely used and all I've done is...

I've been thinking about blanking the egr on my td5. I used to blank Shogun egr's with a plate made from steel, anyone know a reason why we can't just do the same with these? Kev

ACE Trouble Codes a lesson to remember

2002 Discovery td5 sagging a the n/s/r corner overnight, so I checked the little brass nuts on the valve block one had a slight leak if I moved it, cured that, still doing it so I jumped straight in and changed the air bag on that corner, still doing it, changed the other air bag, still doing...

    ACE trouble codes

So far so good I've run it around a bit and on ace light :). But now the car sags on the n/s/r corner if left overnight. I have changed both air bags and the n/s ride height sensor, I also found a slight leak on a fitting which I cured, it's still doing it though!! This one's driving me mad.

    What would you do

Couple of recovery straps, jate rings for front and rear and wading plugs all quite cheap but don't buy poor quality, be careful of the front bumper cos if you break it they are about £430 + vat before you get it painted. Maybe go to a pay and play day and watch what everyone else is doing...
