I will try in the morning giving it some beans whilst I turn the wheel. If it’s easy whilst revving, it’s the pump? If it makes no difference, potentially box?

It’s heavy whilst stationary or manouvering slowly. Fine whilst normal driving. Hope it isn’t the box

Steering box is 4 month old, so I don’t think it’s that.

Think my pump is on its way out too. When stationary, steering is not assisted, moving is fine. Is it the beginning of the end of my pump also?

I have had a look at mine, the I individual parts I've bolted to the old door mount plate and put grommets in the holes

Sorry read your original post again. Mine had a spacer type metal bracket, but I could unbolt the spacer part and just mount the flat plate straight to the door

Mine came with that bracket, just ditch the spacer but.

Makes sense, probably isn’t that then. Will still get new viscous unit though to prevent any issues.

Sorry for raising and old thread. Can you remember what sort of noises they were, my viscous has some play in it, and makes a loud vibrating noise at certain revs, whether it be 2nd 3rd 4th or 5th gear ( hard to tell in first as it isn’t laboured long enough)

Manipulated a door with a hammer, now it seals properly;)

Wow, literally night and day...... Fitted some night breakers too. So so much better. It is definitely one those ‘why didn’t I do this earlier’, instead of guessing where the road is :) Obviously you can wire one up yourself, but I went for the lazy option since I’d had few to many at the time ;)

Just fitted the boomslang today, will have to wait until Monday morning when I go to work to see the difference. I’m not going out now in case the bogey man gets me.......

Are you planning on working on it yourself? What is your level of mechanical knowledge? The newer you get, the more electronics and parts there is. I have 300tdi because it’s simple. Do the work myself. Not a lot to go wrong. Just something to consider.

Welcome, There will be some knowledgable people that can help, or has seen your issue. But, you’ll have to post in the freelander section. The car in front isn’t a Toyota, if it’s off-road......

Just to clarify, I don’t make the dogs sit on them. They’re normally folded up.
