    200TDI Fuel Injector Removal - It's being a pig!

Got a seat cutting set, the one with the best reviews. Was wondering if anyone has used injector grease when installing new injectors and spark plugs for easier removal? This one seems to be for mercedes. Could this be used in small amounts or best not to? Thanks

    200TDI Fuel Injector Removal - It's being a pig!

Thanks again for the help, much appreciated. I've stopped injector No.1 leak, though No.2 started the same! I have removed all three injectors again, carefully plugged the holes and cleaned out all the muck, some black death remains! But I should imagine the reaming/recutting tool would sort...

    200TDI Fuel Injector Removal - It's being a pig!

Would you recommend new washers before budging the stuck No.4? Or should I try again as planned tomorrow as I have reset the 1st that was leaking? I might wait until I get some new washers then to help budge the no. 4 injector, don't want to bugger the others too, should have done before hand...

    200TDI Fuel Injector Removal - It's being a pig!

Yeh, didn't fancy using old washers, but haven't got new ones yet. I'll release and reposition and try again. Question, are the engines ok with running with a lose injector like that? I guess for short bursts probably ok, obviously wouldn't want to be driving around like it for sure. Thanks

Excellent. I thought that was it. Just the wrong injector. Shall I re position the first injector and re tighten and repeat? As the fourth hasn't budged

I know what it was. It's the front injector. Tiny amount of black crap around the base of the injector. So that one seems to be loose. Though they were cleaned out and popped in and done up to torque.

It was as if something had blown as it was two or three pumps a second and a fine spray of I guess diesel. I checked the leak off pipes and they are in place and not loose.

    200TDI Fuel Injector Removal - It's being a pig!

Hi all. Late reply as I've been busy. I put the injectors back in and checked all clamps for torque, slightly loosened the stuck injector. Engine was running for about 10 seconds then it made a chuffing sound, like under compression. I was in the cab at the time but a bystander said they could...

Not sounding good! I guess I'll be doing the same. ****e. How loose was the clamp whilst driving? Just a bit of wiggle up and down? I might just cut it off, heat it hot and remove. Seems like it will be the quicker and easier job.

Damn, I fear this may be yet to come! I hope not. Will see what the heat and pressure from running does tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed! Cheers

    200TDI Fuel Injector Removal - It's being a pig!

Thanks for the info. Going to try this tomorrow. I've out all injectors back, connected clamps to torque and fuel leak off pipes. I slightly loosened the clamp in the stuck injector, not so it's loose, just a few turns undone. I will fire up for a few mins and see what happens. I guess if it...

    200TDI Fuel Injector Removal - It's being a pig!

Quick question, putting the injector clamps back in, does anyone know which way up the clamps go? I didn't check before taking them out. Say it's a dog head, the ears are slightly up turned in the tips, I think that faces up? Ha cheers

I'll try that first as I have plenty of steel knocking about, worst comes to worst ill weld it together. I think it did budge a touch, maybe a mm or 1.5mm, but annoying that it won't turn left and right. If no joy, I'll reassemble and fire up. Thanks all, much appreciated.

    200TDI Fuel Injector Removal - It's being a pig!

Thanks all, I will refit the 3 injectors tomorrow and pipes and then fire up. I guess it's not worth doing, but the shaft of the slide hammer is only 200mm, maybe 240mm, I might get some mild steel round bar and drill and tap the centre and attach to the end of the current slide hammer first, as...

    200TDI Fuel Injector Removal - It's being a pig!

Oh sorry, you mean the actual injector physically turning left and right, wiggle it? No, not really, the others did, this one though, not really. Which seemed an issue, as I'm not sure if it's be damaged or bent, though looks straight by eye. Normally when I do the slide hammer up they tend to...
