Heater fan blowing air OUT of wingtop vent

What's the condition of the matrix? Might be worth flushing it through while everything's apart although you can do it in situ too.

    Rear wiper motor - testing?

As a result of Kwakerman's response (and PM with lots of detail), I've tested it again. It's dead. It's also Br**part...what more can I say?

    Rear wiper motor - testing?

Yep, as I thought. Anyone out there got any clever electricians ways of diagnosing exactly what's wrong? I have a multi meter and an instruction book....:(

    Rear wiper motor - testing?

I've eventually got around to installing/replacing the rear wash/wipe system on my 1995 Defender. I've used a Carling switch as I couldn't find an OEM switch at a reasonable price. This is now wired in and passes power to the remains of the loom at the back door. Trouble is, the new motor won't...

    300TDi Squeeling belt 'Penny Trick'

No, but I had The Squeal, added the penny and a few miles later had the water pump drive shear.. I think all of these symptoms are an indication of something going wrong, but it's a bit of a lottery to track down the culprit(s). As a result of 2 annoying experiences I now carry amongst other...

    steering wheel removal help/how to....

Tried that too. I've given up. The OEM wheel does the job well enough and I can live with the off-centre position even though it "grinds my gears" that it isn't right. My concern now is for future maintenance - I like to be sure that everything that should come apart actually will, and this...

    Steering box drop arm nightmare

Yep -good point. Only got involved 'cos my local "wheel aligner" used a LOT of heat on my steering bits when doing the tracking. I wasn't happy and it cost him 2 hours labour and a new set of tre's and rod.

    Steering box drop arm nightmare

Agree. Done it twice now and quite a straightforward job, even without the fancy tool that you can buy...a G-clamp works just fine. I see that the OP was using a blowlamp. I might be wrong but I recall that this isn't a good idea as it can k*acker the seals in the steering box.

    Wild Camping in Portugal

We had a plan to go to Portugal next year and do a North-to-South offroad route we've heard about. We intended to wild camp but expert opinion suggests that this won't be possible as it's a. illegal throughout the country and b. especially so in National Parks, which have variable rules on all...

    Dash Console

MUD console is indeed plastic and injection moulded but it does the job pretty well and is easy to fit. Solid enough and has survived a fair amount of vibration etc offroad. I'd prefer a better engineered product with the advantages mentioned above, but for the money the MUD is OK.

    Defender Dashboard Options

If you know what you want, the only way to really get it is to make your own. In my experience the standard dash is for standard people - if you want something more you have to go bespoke.

    Defender tip-up rear seat

Wanted - and with the brown "Landrover" logo and trim like Exmoor used to do if possible. To fit a 1995 Defender. Will consider other finishes if condition is good since I could re-cover.

    Outhaus Landietent thoughts

If t'were me, I'd buy a cheap(er) ground tent that'd be more versatile and you can leave it set up while you go off for the groceries. Can't see any advantages to tying the tent to the truck except, possibly, security.
