    P38 viscous fan removal

For those that are sceptical about why we remove the viscous fans, here is mine after wading and one of the damage it did to the radiator and the impact that had when it exploded.

Good luck getting it back together and through the mot. If you see me you’ll recognise me. Dented, usually muddy unless the rain has washed it off - it’s looking pretty sparkling tonight! - absurdly large tyres on 16” rims, body lift which separates the body from the chassis, snorkel and rock...

P38A EAS Pump etc (spoke to soon!)

Maybe you could replace them with some Berghaus. They have a new collection out you know?

    P38A Front EAS issue

I recently had similar behaviour on mine. Front sensor turned out to be the issue. Changed it and - touch wood - everything now ok.

I also note that you are based in the nearest town to me, only a few miles away and it looks as if you are similarly afflicted by choosing to green lane in a p38! We could meet up and compare mods, and Nos of replacement rads due to viscous fan strikes while wading!

    P38 viscous fan removal

I had exactly the same issues. I used @Datatek ’s mod, (Thanks again for that), and added another cruise control switch to the dash which i wired in line with the fan so i can turn it off when wading. I don’t miss the viscous fan at all.

Also, forgot to mention that I picked her up from the garage the other day. New front left ride height sensor - fixed all the EAS issues - for now - and the ABS. Drives beautifully now. Well, apart from the wallowing and late gear changes, but that’s my own fault!

Drove her all the way to the tip and back. That’s a long journey, maybe 10 miles in total - and I hesitate to say this because it’s usually tempting fate - but she behaved perfectly.

L322 This can't be a good noise can it?

I have the genuine LR removable tow hitch and i don’t have any problems at all, not with a trailer or bike rack or when empty.

You might wonder why i need a new inlet manifold. There is not much to go wrong is there? However, i think mine is plastic and the broken intercooler fixing bracket has rubbed a hole in it!

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Yes. My old manifold has a change in the diagonal after the 3rd or 4th pipe, the new one i bought looked right superficially on t’ internet - but all the diagonals are the same. Bugger.

Nope. She’s a psychopath. Stole a pair of pliers out of my hand while I was distracted the other day.
