They are colour coded the same as nav lights on ships and aircraft. Port/Left is red, Starboard/Right is green.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Not gonna lie, I was planning on doing just the top 2 if it came to it. Looking at the wetness, it seems it starts around the lower section. I plan on taking off the intake so I can have a better look on the weekend.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Leaning more to a seal leaking, I've noticed the left side of the engine is always wet, but I haven't been able to pinpoint where from. Looking at the guide to replace the seals in situ, I shouldn't need to adjust the metering if I mark the FIP accurately. Alternatively, I have some PRC1440B2...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Thought I'd do a basic filters service. Been longer than I care to admit and kinda hoping it'd help with the cutting out at idle. It did not, thinking my refub FIP might be on the way out. Sad times. Really should have my own diag so I could check if it is the issue, but I've only had this car...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I've been on Yokohama Geolander A/T G015s for about a year and a half, 400 the set. Can't complain. Maybe not the as grippy in the wet as the Uniroyal Rallye 4x4 Street I had on before, but are better in mud and snow by a country mile and cost about 30 a corner less. She dropped a bunch of...

P38A Front Propshafts for sale on Ebay

Is it the shaft that failed or just the UJs? You can get UJs for peanuts and can be easily replaced using basic handtools.

True enough, my wheels are shod in G015s. At almost £200 a corner now. 🙃 Although I was lucky that they were only £100 a corner when I got them. I could get a full set of 5 alloys for under £100.

For getting the hub off, I cracked off the four bolts a few threads. Then give them a few taps with a hammer. Although I was lucky as it wasn't that tight on. Guess the antiseize I slapped on there last time I had the hub off made all the difference. I think the ring is friction fit because even...

Other What have you done since not touching your range rover today?

I spent most of yesterday riding shotgun in a Kia something Hybrid. Had to goto DMRC to get brain scans. Wasn't the best way I could think of to spend 12 hours. Felt so nice getting back in the ol Rangie to drive the 20 minutes home. But my god did the day wipe me out. Spent all of today...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Hey, new forum looks nice. I can finally share the pictures from when I changed the CV joint. It was an absolute lickout. Was glad I was able to recruit a Fijian to crack off the hubnut. Was surprised to find the old joint was fine, the noise was all because a circlip failed...

P38A Time has come to say goodbye

I feel that. Since rattling my brain just existing is hard work. Had to change the CV joint last weekend, and it wiped me out. Just getting the hub nut off I resorted to borrowing a neighbourly Fijian so I had enough energy left to do everything else.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Yeah, that's how I filled it. I am guessing last place just left engine off and filled to depressurised max. Got plenty of fluid now. By top oring, you mean the cover for fuel return, or deeper down where it gets into fuel metering and whatnot?

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Today was UJ day. The black dust you see near the socket is what was left of the bearings from the end cap on the floor. Probably why it had a bit of knock about it. Absolutely hated the clips to keep the caps in. Never thought I'd see the day when I appreciated circlips. Topped...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Oh my god, sorry. Not good news on that front. They think I have a TBI, being referred to Stanford Hall for further checks. If I have baked my swede then I am likely getting an MD and dementia in my near future. On the P38 front. The UJ they sent me is shot. One end cap has mismatched bearings...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Old one didn't fall off, but I the seals failed. So the roller bearings have made a break for freedom. Which makes me sad. :(

What did you do with your Range Rover today

New grease gun and grease arrived today. UJ is still MIA. Had an update from the supplier that it is delayed. But will have it no later than Saturday. Can't wait, it makes me nervous driving without the front prop. The tyres on it now break traction for fun in RWD mode. Not to mention the...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Had to convert my P38 to RWD, UJ failed on me, luckily caught it before it has done any damage to the prop. Looks like the grease has been washed out. Which is weird because it is the tbox front output UJ. New UJ and fresh grease should arrive later this week. I am guessing my open for 10+ years...
